I like the concept Perri is getting at. Lets use [I]Altar[/I] as a baseline for this. If you extrapolate the darkness from the album you're left with any Univers Zero album. If you blow away all of the reverb and crank the tempo up a bit you get [I]Pigs of the Roman Empire[/I] by Melvins w/ Lustmore. If you take it and add a bit more complexity and add a bit of humor, you get Harvey Milk. If you add King Crimson so it, you get Guapo.

i dont have it anymore but i recall it being kinda neat. especially Burning Man, it starts out with just guitar playing this standard metal riff at a normal speed, but then the drums come in and all of a sudden CHAOS Brann Dailor is playin like four snare hits every beat and its insane in a good way

Yeah its too fast. Might wanna skip Guapo also, they're more like Gospel but not as heavy. Harvey Milk is a good bet though.

well i [I]do [/I]love Gospel, like seriously a lot. so that actually makes me want to listen to them a little more. i just checked my email and saw that our Radiothon themes are due tonight, and just since in this moment i'm looking into this kinda stuff, i decided to call my show Lava Bath and basically it will be everything that sounds remotely like what i've been looking for. i'll download everything you guys recommend and check it all out because the show is in about a month anyways so i have lots of time. piercing feedback, heavy drums, thick riffs... sparse screams... i'm sure i'll find lots of **** like this. which Harvey Milk / Guapo albums shoul di get first?
