Paul (Papa Shank) wants yousendit censored because he thinks that people are sending each other porn to each other and abusing it.
What indication does he have that it's being used for porn?

ATM 02-28-2005 11:46 AM

How is that even his business anyway? Or do you mean people are sending it through the site?

munky_magik 02-28-2005 11:47 AM
What yousendit business? I must have missed something.
In the report severe problems thread, Paul reported a bunch of links giving downloads of Dvds, audio's etc... and Jim removed them all.
Paul also mentioned something about it someone saying it if continues the site might be shut down, and then ***** countered it.
I don't know. He talked about it in the Ask the Mods thread in Site, I think.

I'll show you, give me some time to get the link.
I just found it, in the severe problems thread. I didn't see anything about porn, but then I didn't read it very closely. He seems more worried about the site being shut down for illegal trading of copyrighter material. At most I think we should make an announcement, and addition to the rules, preventing the trade of things like films and full albums (unless they're rare), since yousendit does a lot of good, I think. There's just always people who will abuse it.

ATM 02-28-2005 11:55 AM

I personally use YSI to hear about lesser known and obscure bands. I don't see where the problem is with that.

ATM 02-28-2005 11:58 AM

Later, man.

NP Cynic - How Could I

Lo Peeps,

Going paintballing next month for a friends birthday, that should be fun.

We decided what covers we're doing for our school rock concert, its not much but we're the best band in school so why not . We're doing Black Night by Deep Purple, Paradise City by Guns n Roses, and Whole Lotta Rosie by ACDC, not too exciting, but im sure it will go down well, i wanted to do Train of Consequences by Megadeth, but meh w/e, and we have a few shows here and there coming up.

We'll be recording a demo pretty soon so ill get it up here so you guys can listen and tell me what you think, dont worry it wont be another terrible pop punk band with 12 year olds :)

I don't have a problem with it either, it's an easy way to get files, but if it does severly infringe copyright then it might have to stop.
I was curious so I asked :)

superpeer 02-28-2005 12:33 PM

It would suck if YSI would be taken down. :(

Six Foot Revolver 02-28-2005 12:39 PM

n00b question but what is YSI?

Bartender 02-28-2005 12:42 PM

yousendit

Six Foot Revolver 02-28-2005 12:43 PM

Somebody bumped a really old thread, and I didn't realize it was old and posted that I was confused. The guy that bumped it then deleted his post, so people thought I had bumped this thread. I got negged by a few people because of it.

Lol, i meant the lame pop punk bands that put songs up here, you know the ones that sound like Simple Plan, except worse, if thats possible.

I have nothing against punk :)

I'm assuming that your band isn't terrible though, and you aren't 12.
