for my fretless i got this crazy clear coat stuff that is 99% as hard as epoxy and is 200 times easyer to apply.

okokok calm down my internet is slow and crappy right now. the cear coat that i put on it is "motomaster clear coat for cars". i have had it on my bass since augest and have yet to see anydamage from the mass about of slapping that i do on my fretless. mind you that i use flats. also the guy that recmended it to me said that it works as well as epoxying and if it ever starts to breat down that you can sand it off and redo it. OR you can use funiture stripper (not recommened unless you are sure that you wont get any on you neck because it will take that finish off as well) and it will come right off. as you can see it is easyer to apply and is easyer to work with and is cheeper. now if you use this stuff apply it, then put it on a stand for a week and DON"T TOUCH IT!!!! this stuff takes a week to dry compleatly. but once it does it is beautiful and plays like wet dream.
