I like more Seattle's setlist, but SD was crazier.

Little Wing and Mistreated are awesome covers.

Jev 01-30-2006 01:50 AM
That's why they are known as "Alchohollica" er however you spell it.
 were more like.

Unless Rob plays drunk live. That would explain the stance.

Mr.Metalton 01-30-2006 01:52 AM

they were know as that because of James's Drinking problems on stage before he went to rehab. didnt you watch Some kind of monster?

Jev 01-30-2006 01:53 AM

I didn't pay attention. It was tedious.

Mr.Metalton 01-30-2006 01:56 AM

yeah it talked about it in there. it was in a scene with the MTV news thing.

Britton 01-30-2006 12:49 PM

Okay so they got over it.

Rob's stance is awsome...looks like a monkey though...

PepsiMetal 01-30-2006 01:01 PM

More like a gorilla in his case.. :)

Monkeys are small.

I always thought it was more of a spider crawl. Or maybe rob is just constipated........

Zildjian 01-30-2006 01:33 PM

robs a great bassest and all and he's good with metallica but its hard to see metallica without Jason or cliff

Britton 01-30-2006 01:44 PM

Yea but that's only cause they were in Tallica longer and that's what we are used to seeing.

lightningmetal666 01-30-2006 01:55 PM

Tuesday's Gone has to be the best cover that they've done so far, though I'm partial to turn the page.

I wasn't too sure about Kirk's lead in TG however. Apparently years of wah abuse has corroded his ability to do any other type of lead work.

Jev 01-30-2006 02:18 PM

I've come to the conclusion we need another Garage Inc.

yeah, let 'em try to do a cover of slayer's raining blood....

nevermind, they would butcher it. No here we go, try to do a cover of an actual metal song. Yeah that would rock.

Jev 01-30-2006 02:32 PM

I want them to do a Goldie Lookin Chain song.

Kyle 01-30-2006 02:48 PM

I saw Pepper last night playingfor corrosion of conformity, it was a quality gig.

anyways I digress, I'm all for the goldie lookin' chain cover. They should do 'Guns Don't kill people 'tallica does baby'.

Jev 01-30-2006 02:54 PM

I was thinking Your Missus is a Nutter or maybe Half Man Half Machine. I'd love to hear James do a robot impression.

Half Man Half Machine, what does it mean? WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

listen to Disc 2

lightningmetal666 01-30-2006 07:21 PM
listen to Disc 2
Ok, I'll give you the motorheadache thing, but I was thinking more along the lines of Megadeth, Anthrax, Exodus (kirk should want to do this being that he was originally with the band), kreator, etc.

They already did some Mercyful Fate.

Anyway another Garage would be cool, i like the idea of playing some thrash from other bands or even some old style grindcore.

vashts80 01-30-2006 08:03 PM

I'd like to see them try I Cum Blood (Cannibal Corpse) or Story to Tell (Death). No joke. Or, My Journey to the Stars (Burzum).

I'd like to see them try Flattening Of Emotions by Death.

PepsiMetal 01-30-2006 08:50 PM

I'd like them to do thrash covers. I don't want to see them do any black or death metal. Unless they don't do vocals at all then I guess it'll be better as instrumental.

I'd like them to do slayer's seasons in the abyss, I love that song.

Or megadeth's symphony of destruction, wake up dead, or trust.

Or how about for some change, do some iron maiden covers. That would be awesome. Maybe cover brave new world, or no more lies. ok, Now Im dreaming.

Or dream of mirrors. Damn that would be great.

BLS_Infernus 01-30-2006 08:54 PM

well they did some covers of Megadeth when they went out on tour with them in 93 or 94. Lars couldn't do the drumming on Seasons in the Abyss and they would need another guitar for Iron Maiden

Bazarov 01-30-2006 08:57 PM

Metallica and Megadeth have toured together?

clairvoyant 01-30-2006 09:00 PM
Metallica and Megadeth have toured together?
Yea, somewhere in bewteen 92-93

PepsiMetal 01-30-2006 09:03 PM
well they did some covers of Megadeth when they went out on tour with them in 93 or 94. Lars couldn't do the drumming on Seasons in the Abyss and they would need another guitar for Iron Maiden
Why would they need to have another guitar for iron maiden? They don't have to play it exactly the same. I don't want it to sound exactly the same. But they can do it, no doubt about it. Obviously just a bit different though and add tallica spice.

About seasons of abyss drumming, well lars can just add some other beat. Again it doesn't have to be exactly the same, but guitars and bass could be probably.

Mr.Metalton 01-30-2006 09:18 PM

i dont know why even maiden needs 3 guitarists, two is fine. 3 is only good when u have them dualing each other out. At Ozzfest only one guitarist played solos and the others just did rhythm.

PepsiMetal 01-30-2006 09:20 PM

Well 2 guitarists in maiden usually harmonize and other one adds some cool effects and crap by picking a note or two and stuff. Iron Maiden songs with 2 guitarists would sound quite good as well.

clairvoyant 01-30-2006 09:26 PM
. At Ozzfest only one guitarist played solos and the others just did rhythm.
If by that you mean, during the whole set, only one guitarist played solos, then you are terribly mistaken.

If you mean at a time, one guitarist played a solo, then I guess you are right. They tend to harmonize leads, but not solos.
