Please define bad band. Do you mean a band you don't like? Get off it buddy.
Bad=lack of the following, talent, creatativity, originality, etc.

 And you think Metallica is void of those. Whatever helps you sleep at night.

The old stuff no.

The new stuff yes.

Black album and before was talented, original and creatative.
I'm not a fan but I'll give its credit.

Post black album is just awful.

Jim 01-27-2006 07:22 AM

I really like post Black stuff. It's got a style. As hard rock albums go, Load and ReLoad are quite good. Just nice, easy listening Metallica. Not bad. Bit of filler. But that's all.

Oh yeah, and your Mike Tyson comparison was a winner.

Such a shame he didn't actually manage to piss on him. I would've died of laughter had he succeeded. especially with videos.

I thought the Load albums were extremely creative, I cannot think of any other band with the sound that Metallica had during those albums, sure it was more hard rock than metal, but still no other band sounded like that (that I know of) at the time.

I find the load albums to be great either way...
Bad=lack of the following, talent, creatativity, originality, etc.
Actually no.

Bad means it sounds bad. Good means it sounds good. Simplicity, originality, talent, etc. aren't that important really. Do you actually hear talent though your ears or do you just hear good music?

Plus most of those that you listed are subjective, so there is no right answer. Green Day or Simple Plan are successful pop punk bands. Why dont you try doing that if you think it's easy and you don't need knowledge or talent of any kind?

BLS_Infernus 01-27-2006 03:09 PM

It's all a subjective matter. "One man's thrash is another man's treasure" I think Man Made God's favorite band A7X is complete ****, emotionless, and sell outs.

Metallica reinvents thereselves and Load, Reload, Garage Inc., S&M, and St. Anger were creative and original out of them ***. STFU before you make yourself out to be a bigger n00b and retard then you alread are. Show some maturaty and stop trying to fight a battle that you can't win. Just think of yourself to be lucky that most of us in here are being calm about it.

OMG you are so annoying dude. Just knock off your immature comments about A7X being sellouts. Because right underneath that comment you go to talk about how "Metallica re invents itself" shut up that is the dumbest comment I've ever read in this thread. They aren't sellouts because they do something new just like you've proved with Metallica as a example so many times.

That's great about Lars

BLS_Infernus 01-27-2006 03:40 PM

It's my subjective opinion which I'm in-titled to. I can think whatever I want and thats not going to change my opinion of them. I think they plain out suck and have no emotion. I'm sure other people say that about Metallica and they to are in-titled to their opinion.

I have nothing against doing something new unless I don't like the way it sounds

drummer_mp3 01-27-2006 04:43 PM

I just hope its somkind of cross between MOP and AJFA. That would definately kick ***.

Doctor Night 01-27-2006 05:21 PM

Ride the lightning is probably my favorite album right now.

The Fonz 01-27-2006 05:46 PM

Kill 'em All would have to be my favorite album.

I LOVE the sound of it, and the songs are amazing.

My favorite metallica riffs are either Seek & Destroy, Creeping Death or Blackened. They are so good that I cant really make up my mind.

Haven't posted on MX in nearly a week... (SATs are tomorrow morning...)

I got an adaptor for my car for my iPod :D I've been listening to Ride the Lightning and ...And Justice for All like crazy all week

Check out my Fade to Black!!! It's in the competition thread!!

metalmilitia101 01-27-2006 08:21 PM
If you've seen them live then you know they can. I wouldn't call St. Anger Nu Metal tbqh. the only qualities of Nu Metal it has was the down tuning on SKoM and Invisible Kid because Hetfield used a 7 string and a baritone but other then that no Nu Metalness.

Solos are also back
dem right they can play the good stuff live - the question is if they can put their heads together and think up NEW old styles. thats what i think they probably could do if they concentrated really hard on it, but i dont know. it'l probably end up a whole different style like most of their other albums are haha - which is one of the awesome things about them.

the whole album was downtuned right?

Good luck on the SAT's. The hardest part of the test is the time. If it was shorter, I would have done much better. I lose my points at the end when I begin loosing steam.

Aw3someman 01-27-2006 08:28 PM

he isnt lying. That SAT is a beast. 5 hours jeez.
