Yeah, I like it better then TFSOSR.
|
Regarding Ted Nugent: At least he's not a member of PETA
Ugh, MTV Unplugged Bob Dylan. Bob Dylan + helium = MTV Unplugged.
MTV Unplugged, save Neil Young and Nirvana (both of which were relevent only because they are the only Unplugged performances that didn't devolve to "Let's play our greatest hits, only acoustically [is that a word? Well, it is now, bitch]", and I don't even like Nirvana all that much), was a big waste of time IMO. |
clapton's is good...
|
Yeah, I like it better then TFSOSR.
I guess we have winner
clapton's is good...
I never really liked his. I think I like Ssssh better than Ten Years After's s/t, but I haven't finished it yet John Barleycorn Must Die is amazing! |
'Out of the Blue' is probably my favorite ELO album. Even though I also liked the 2000 release 'Zoom.'
Yeah, but it wasn't the original ELO. Jeff Lynne took all new members for that one. Out of the Blue is my favorite too. Sweet Talkin' Woman, Mr. Blue Sky, Turn to Stone, Jungle... can it get any better? Jeff Lynne news: In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine Tom Petty revealed that fellow Wilbury and Full Moon Fever producer Jeff Lynne will reunite with Petty on his upcoming solo album, due in late 2005 or early 2006. |
Speaking of Full Moon Fever, did you know that all of the Willburies (except Dylan, I think) played on it?
|
I was unaware of that. It's a pretty good album.
|
I read it in "The Mojo Collection: The Greatest Albums of All Time". Good book.
|

More Petty  and Lynne  John Barleycorn is indeed amazing. I can't pick a favorite. I listened to Glad like 5 times before I heard the rest of the album. I'd just pop the cd in, hear Glad, and then I'd go back to Glad because it was so good. All the songs are really great though. Winwood is really, really talented. Amazing voice, great keyboard skills, and a very underrated guitarist. |
The Traveling Wilburys are a great band.
Orbison, Dylan, Harrison, Petty, Lynne... yay! :) |
I'm not a big fan of ELO. "Mr. Blue Sky" has grown on me though.
Isn't someone else around here a vegatarian? I thought for sure at least one other person was.
Ahhh.......me......>_>
It's wired I have always hated the taste of meat. (don't know why) My best of friends don't even know I'm a vegatarian. I'm not exactly proud of it....:-/
Whenever I am in transition I always go through a bunch before I settle on one, and I was just about to change it to The Futuristic Sounds of Sun Ra.
Change to Sun Ra! Does anyone know who's in my avatar? He almost doesn't look like himself here. Maybe I should change back to my Freak Out! avatar..... |
The Traveling Wilburys are a great band.
Orbison, Dylan, Harrison, Petty, Lynne... yay! :)
Who was the best member of the Wilburies? This should start some interesting debates. I'm going to go with Orbison. Just hearing some quotes from the other guys about Orbison makes it seem like they all wanted to join because they wanted to be in a group with him. He was just so respected by them. Incredible voice. I guess he was the glue that held them together for 1 album, because when he died, they kind of fell apart. Vol. 3 is great, but nowhere near as good as Vol. 1. |
Who was the best member of the Wilburies? This should start some interesting debates.
Bob Dylan by far! How can you compete with the greatest songwritter of the 20th century honestly?
|
Bob Dylan by far! How can you compete with the greatest songwritter of the 20th century honestly?
Let me rephrase that to who was the most important to the group. I love Dylan, but I knew nobody would pick Orbison so I decided to make a case for him. |
Favorite Wilbury: Lynne
Favorite Voice: Orbison |
Oh....that would've made sence. It'd be Harrison for sure. I'm not that big of a fan of the group but it seemed like to me that he was leader. He had a fun time in the group when hee was in a general state of depression and it really showed he was having a good time. Had good vocals on the 1st volume.
|
I couldn't pick my favorite voice of the Wilburys.
|
I couldn't pick my favorite voice of the Wilburys.
For vocals, Roy Orbison for me. Man, that guy had a set of pipes. np: Handle With Care |
Anybody want to send out some Wilburys?
I don't have mine anymore. |
For vocals, Roy Orbison for me. Man, that guy had a set of pipes.
np: Handle With Care
That song is perfect. Great lead vocals by Harrison, great bridge work by Orbison, and some nice harmonies. Then great slide guitar and harmonica with Harrison and Dylan at the end. I'll take this opportunity to whore my Traveling Wilburies review I did a while ago. Eight Miles High was like the only one who commented :( I'll find the link in a minute. Edit- Here's the link- http://www.sputnikmusic.com/album.php?albumid=3605 I might be able to upload volumes 1 and 3 tomorrow. |
Ok I'm uploading the Arzachel right now. You guys will probably like it.

Ok, I'll get that to you if I can :) For Halloween, I'm either going to be a 70's rocker (like Gilmour with a Mason beard or something) or something bad-ass, like an axe murderer... or both! ...Careful With That Axe Eugene comes to mind... Wow, this thread moves too darn quick :( |
