Wow, it was awesome. I got down there Friday night to the Marriot hotel (where there were 67 rooms of people filled for the wedding), took a limo to a very nice italian restaurant for the rehearsal dinner. Then we went back and went to sleep. Saturday, we woke up at 11, went to Denny's for breakfast (instaead of spending 13$ each for hotel food) and came back and started preparing for the wedding. We went to the church, which was amazingly awesome, and the wedding was really nice. We then took a limo to where the reception was held. Holy fart, that place was the most elegant place I have ever been. They had an open bar and martini bar, too ... so my sister and I (the only two people not of age in the entire place) had a few drinks. It was kinda awkward getting drunk with my parents and extended family, but it was a good time. There were 2 badns that played, one big band, and one Croation band ... and in between sets, my sister and I did shots with the croation guys, good times. After the reception, we went back to the hotel into the hospitality sweet where there was more alcholhol and dessert-type foods. Good times. I passed out a while later in our room ... then we had a nice breakfast this morning befroe spending 5 hours in a car on the way home. Overall, it was a fabulous weekend.

THe big-band guy was solid. I think it was a Schecter (sp) that he was playing ... but I'm not sure. He was in his 50's or older, and he'd clearly been playing a long time. He was nothing really special ... in the fact that he didn't stand out, but he was very solid, as a good bass palyer should be.

The Croation guy played a fretted upright bass ... which was weird, but I guess that's a normal instrument in that part of the world. He also played it with a pick-type thing ... which he siad is also normal. He sounded good, his lines were nice with lots of movement, although he was kinda quiet.
