Electric Ladyland

Who's Next
Appetite For Destruction
Harvest
Led Zep 2, 4 (atleast)

This is the stuff that every classic rock fan has.

/well, maybe not Harvest, because some classic rock fans suck.
The psychedelic San Fran scene is massively overrated.
Why is it overrated? Not Psychedelic enough?

If so, judging by some the other Psychedelic bands you compare them to, they aren't as Psychedelic (Unless you're talking about Syd Barrett). Unlike bands like the USA, melody/harmony play a large role, there is a pop element. They do not try to play avant garde forms and be that experimental, they play songs and covers. And because of this, these bands are enjoyable to more people and at least listenable. On the topic of The USA, I find their s/t extremely overrated; I can't even listen to it.

The people without Tommy should download that before Lunch hurts them.

Badmoon 06-22-2005 12:22 PM

Isn't Lunch uploading that

I'm making a Calexico thread, with mp3's. Though few will be new to you all, that is if you downloaded Convict Pool when I offered it.

Are you sure it wasn't that Van Halen cover of "You Really Got Me" :p Cause they covered it. :)

BludgeonySteve 06-22-2005 01:40 PM

That's probably what it is. That's a great song and a great cover of the song. Atleast Van Halen changed things around on their version of it. They gave it some balls and attitude.

Buy the cd, the packet is pretty good. The download should sustain you for a while though.

edit- Badmoon I like the Garcia and Griman's cover of Knockin' on Heaven's Door. :thumb:

RadKeysPlayer 06-22-2005 02:06 PM

robo2448 06-22-2005 02:33 PM

I never bothered to listen to II because I don't like IV.

BludgeonySteve 06-22-2005 02:34 PM

guys, take your zep talk to the zep thread. It has no place here.

/we decided a while ago to stop discussing zepplin in the thread.

MalcolmYoungRock 06-22-2005 02:45 PM

Thanks for keeping my list updated Freud, it really helped a lot :)

Yeah, we decided to cease all Zeppelin talk in the thread just because there's a lot of it and it could go in the Zep thread.

(Which was on Page 5 before I bumped it this morning.)

Glitterati 06-22-2005 02:46 PM

That's a good idea.

robo2448 06-22-2005 02:52 PM

Mr. Squiggles 06-22-2005 03:07 PM

Ok, all this time I've been here and I've never checked out this thread. So what do you guys usually talk about on here? Besides the obvious answer "Classic Rock"
