They were changed either late last year or early this year, I don't remember.
Go here and click any of the links in the middle of the page to see the new design. The old cards can still be played with, though I'm not sure on mixing of new and old being tournament legal (because of different backs). There'll always be tournaments arranged specifically for old style cards, but I, and my friends who also played, just got disillusioned after they changed. |
Hmmm...I didn't see that many differences :-/
Certainly nothing major...unless I was looking at the wrong stuff... |

http://www.magictrade.dk/images/kort/nemesis/Rhox.JPG ^Old-style. http://www.wizards.com/global/images/magic/8e/rhox.jpg ^New-style. They happen to be the same card too, but that's not important. |
Ah yeah...I still don't think it's that major, I thought you meant like a major overhaul. Noticeable, but not supremely different. The older does look better though...
|
I think if you played yourself, you'd notice it more. The new style is horrifically ugly, to my eyes :)
I used to be really into it though. Had a favourite player and everything. |
Haha, nice. When I was doing SWCCG I had binders with thousands of cards, so I know how that goes...

The only way this thread could get any nerdier if we start calculating the star dates from Star Trek, and arguing about the staying power of a phaser-1 system.

*pulls pen from pocket protector and puts on quarter inch thick glasses*
 I am glad I don't know any about Star Trek... |
I'm somewhat depressed now. Jon Finkel (my favourite player) used to be on top of the world, and before I gave up on MTG, I already knew he was in a decline; he'd fallen off the gravy train, and it was rare to see him even compete, let alone win :(
Anyway, this thread just prompted me to check up on the world of Magic, and not only is Finkel nowhere to be seen, but his record earnings from the 2000 Worlds has been broken by some 15 year old kid at this years Worlds :( /unhappy Anyway, how is everyone? |
Going to bed. I have to work in 10 hours. :(
|
Oh. Well. I have no job.
|
Bloody leech, living off the hard working men and women of this country, like me.
*realises that Britain is a different country* |
Damn right. I'm leeching an entirely different nation to yours, so you have no right to be annoyed :)
What kind of work do you have to do in ten hours anyway? |
Ummm... I'm self employed.
*leaves room quickly* Nah, I'm just a grocery boy. Nothing too exciting. |
Kvlt Kiddies (posted at 21:33) A disturbingly frequent occurence lately is about people in bands who contact us or our staff to delete their band(s) from the Encyclopaedia. The reasons rarely vary; it's invariably because these people want to be so **** tr00 and "underground" that they try to wipe out their existence from the Internet (although we had one exception of one person who was actually embarassed by his bands...). Sorry kids, but you do not have a copyright on information, and you cannot stop people from talking about you on forums and being listed on various websites. If there are mistakes in your page(s), we will gladly correct them, but we won't delete them just to satisfy a petty whim.
Here's a tip: if you don't want to be known (on the Internet or otherwise), don't record music. Don't release it publically. At best, record your ultra-kvlt demo tape and give it to the penguins - I'm sure they won't remove necro underground points by spreading information on the Internet about you. The FAQ has been updated in this regard. From now on, we will direct anyone who makes such a frivolous request to the FAQ.
The tr00 kvlt kiddies got owned. |
Yeah, I saw that. I really don't see the point in forming a band, then trying to purge it's existence from the internet.
|
Nor do I...
You usually make a band for other people to hear you and get your music out there... If you don't want your music out there, just don't form or join a band. |
Yeah. I mean, I know why they do it - to be kvlt - but overall it'd be easier just to not form a band and claim you did.

I work at a cell phone repair centre. I enter phones into the system and bill the manufacturer after they're repair. Essentially it's data entry/processing warranty claims.
|
ouch.... thats why your on here this much i take it
right as i have alot of time on my hands, im gonna review something which one would be better Riot,Riot, Upstart (agnostic front) Underground Network (anti-flag) Apetite For Destruction (g'n'r) re-review in the thread, te orginal was very info lacking |

Yes, this is why I'm here all day. I'm on a computer all day, everyday.
