Get [I]March to the Black Holocaust[/I], it's a split between Vlad Tepes and Belketre, high quality French BM.

Epheles is great too. There's actually a shiteload of great French BM. Peste Noire's first LP is great, Deathspell Omega's Kenose is awesome, Blut Aus Nord is pretty decent.

I have Fas - Ite, Maledicti, in Ignem Aeternum, haven't gotten around to listening to it yet. I'll check these out when I get the chance.

For French black metal, you have to get Peste Noire- La Sanie des siècles - Panégyrique de la dégénérescence. It's basically an essential if you're going to delve into the backwards Frenchy world of bm. But yeah, the split that Angsteve reccomended is a top priority as well.

Ultima Thulee by Blut Aus Nord rules a lot, great keyboard work. And Kenose is good yeah but It's all I can sit through by Deathspell. And yeah, Peste Noire too.

It's not that good. It's totally overblown, nearly every song has a ridiculous build up. Kenose is awesome though.

I might review this album I'm listening to at the moment, just to spark some interest in it. lol @ dissection joke, but don't forget all the depressive emo black metal that those guys praise.

does anyone have an opinion on Mortifera? i got Ruines Humaines a couple months ago from Crav since he's kind of a Niege fanboy but he also sent me Mortifera's Vastiia Tenebrd Mortifera. I thought it was good when i listened to it a while ago, it's about due for another spin.
