Lord Abortion 11-29-2004 03:27 PM

just voted for hallowed...
come on it's the greatest song ever written!!!

ashman 11-29-2004 03:28 PM

After Mettallica won Best Metal Band ever, I decided to Boycott those votes, since they are just plain stupid, and those annoying little kids will vote Mettallica...

^Probably makes no sense due to the Anger I am going through right now!

Lord Abortion 11-29-2004 03:29 PM

ashman 11-29-2004 03:30 PM

Indeed, I need to step up my post count in here too, I'm behind Gur by about 100 posts...

ashman 11-29-2004 03:33 PM

I stand Corrected, I just thought the tour for Ed Hunter was with Blaze since "The Angel And Gambler" video used footage from the game. Well that sorted that. Cheers Eddie :thumb:

Lord Abortion 11-29-2004 03:45 PM

yeah because the whole point of that tour was to get Bruce back into the swing of things

The Iron Langer 11-29-2004 03:45 PM

Need to vote for Hallowed..... :naughty:

Lord Abortion 11-29-2004 03:47 PM

ashman 11-29-2004 03:52 PM
yeah because the whole point of that tour was to get Bruce back into the swing of things
Yeh I know that. I think it was pretty cool that Wasted Years was on the setlist.

The Iron Langer 11-29-2004 03:54 PM

I did :thumb:
...."Do not spend your time Milano...worrying about those Wasted Beerz!"

Lord Abortion 11-29-2004 03:57 PM

ain't it funny how it ends...
good song...
It is going to be maiden vs. maiden in these polls
run to the hills is possibly the weakest song there IMO
but it is magnificent
but I prefer the trooper et al.
it's all good!

ashman 11-29-2004 04:01 PM

I always wondered why he said "Beers"...

The Iron Langer 11-29-2004 04:01 PM

Its kinda odd how Run To the Hills is their most famous song yet not their best by any stretch of the imagination.I mean i love it but..

ashman 11-29-2004 04:03 PM

True, I think it's because it's short, snappy, and gives you what Maiden are in one short song.

There's three reasons for that:

1. It's their poppiest (to the extent that it's less then 4 minutes (I think, not all versions) and only has one guitar solo)

2. It's the song that got them onto Top Of The Pops

3. It was their first single with Bruce Dickenson on vocals, which added something fantastic to the band.
I always wondered why he said "Beers"...
 He likes saying silly things.maybe all their Beers were spilling in the mosh pit-aahhh sacrilage-Wasting Beer
Bruce is hilarious.Actually i was listening to his rock show the other night and he was on about how David Lee Roth is training to become a paramedic and he says"yeh and if hes ever covering Rush he can sing The Temples Of Syringe" I thought twas very funny

Not true, they performed Women in Uniform and Running Free (I think), before the release of the first album.

The Iron Langer 11-29-2004 04:15 PM

Hey-speaking from a females point of view,Bruce looks very well for his age :D

YDload 11-29-2004 05:21 PM

A vote for "Hallowed Be Thy Name" is a vote for all that is good in metal. Even Metallica fans can't vote for their band's song, "Call of Kthulu" without hesitating. It's boring, it's got a borrowed Mustaine riff in it, and most importantly... it's not as good as HBTN!

Riva 11-29-2004 05:30 PM

Run To The Hills has Maiden's catchiest chorus. I think that is why everyone loves it. Even my twin sister doesn't mind it.

Alessandro 11-29-2004 05:33 PM

Does anyone know where I can find live mp3 versions (if there are any) of the following songs: All My Love, The Lemon Song, Ten years gone, Babe Im Gonna Leave You. Some other rare material would be also appreciated, thanks!
