Drunken Viking 01-06-2006 03:53 PM
I was messin around with the guitar like usual, and I thought up a couple rhythms and put them together, but I don't really know what genre/s it sounds like. It will have both screaming and vocals when it is complete. Here is the clip:

Kinda sounds like Blink 182 or that one really popular song by Switchfoot, I forgot it's name though.

AuDioFreaK39 01-06-2006 03:56 PM

yeah, I kinda based it off of Meant to Live by Switchfoot, but then it's more melodic. I just don't know which genre it would be classified as if it involves screaming and singing.

Tyler 01-06-2006 05:20 PM

Um. When did this become Audio Arena?

Danger Bird 01-06-2006 05:27 PM

I'm doing this thing where I'm going to listen to music for an entire day. It'll be like a soundtrack, the music will fit with what I'm doing. Right now I need a good song to take a shower to. All I have so far is Yellow Submarine and Singing in the Rain. Any suggestions?

David_Gilmour 01-06-2006 05:38 PM

bit of a crap suggestion but 'why does it always rain on me?' by travis.
you never know?

yeah 100 posts!!

paranoid923 01-06-2006 05:45 PM
I know it's kind of hard, but I would like some bands similar to opeth.

Dude3 01-06-2006 05:47 PM

Guys, what is the best album to get by The Blood Brothers? I'm loving them, but I'm still not sure what to get by em.

Thanks. I also thought of Octopus' Garden and Rock Lobster, so I think I have enough to cover the shower now.

Didn't you ask this already?

I personally don't like them, but I'm told "Burn Piano Island Burn" is one to get.

I'm looking for some metal with good breakdowns.
Please note I am not looking for metalcore, nor am I looking for music that's entire focus is breakdowns. Hope this is enough to go on.

Sleepy 01-10-2006 03:11 PM

Could anyone please recommend some good folk metal in the vein of Wintersun, Ensiferum, Kalmah, and Finntroll, as well as black metal without the terrible production (besides the newer Dimmu Borgir).

Also, what is considered to be DragonForce's best CD?

Dragonforce's best cd is either Inhuman Rampage or the upcoming Inhuman Rampage

Some BM I've discovered (and I hate ****ty production) is as follows:

1349 - Hellfire
Anorexia Nervosa - Drudenhaus
Emperor - In the Nightside Eclipse
Immortal - Sons Of Northern Darkness
Naglfar - Sheol

They're not the most "true" black metal albums by any means, but I like them. Sorry, I can't help with the folk metal stuff though.

Sleepy 01-10-2006 03:20 PM

I have Emperor - In the Nightside Eclipse and must say that the production value is nauseating. It's awesome music though, once you break through the fuzz.

And thanks for the DragonForce recommendation :thumb: I'll probably end up asking Jay about the folk, anyway.

Bump!! Anyone? If it helps, I'm loving the breakdown in the Aeon song "Forever Nailed", as well as the classics like "Slit Your Guts". Burrgggggh...I need to learn to be more specific.
