No, I just dislike the Little Mermaid.

That's the song I was thinking about.

Such a beautiful song. :')

Riva 02-06-2007 07:23 PM

Heh, that song is brilliant. Lewis Carrol was a great author. Brilliant sense of rhythm. Jabberwocky is a great piece of poetry.

TojesDolan 02-06-2007 07:24 PM

I know. The "R in March" reference is excellent.

Riva 02-06-2007 07:28 PM

Also, I love in the Simpsons how Homer always tries to solve problems by living under the sea. :p My friends and I think it not only references The Little Mermaid but also The Spy Who Loved Me, a James Bond movie where the villian wants to create paradise under the sea.

hahahaha

Oh Awesome. I know, that's why I love that song as well, I picture Homer eating all the seaworld, heh.

I didn't get the cute arrows. :(

the2stranger 02-10-2007 11:58 AM

I love the new lay-out.
More pictures and less cluttered. :D

Neoteric 02-10-2007 12:03 PM

I really shouldn't have reset my last.fm =(

Overall:

1 Sonic Youth 196
2 Maudlin Of The Well 101
3 Hüsker Dü 81
4 Pixies 48
5 My Bloody Valentine 47
6 The Velvet Underground 45
6 Modest Mouse 45
8 System of a Down 41
9 didjits 37
9 Pink Floyd 37
11 Refused 31

It's such a crap list.

Jacaranda 02-10-2007 12:33 PM

I hate the new radio stuff its too much on my page, wish I could remove it and the play buttons on all my stuff.

the2stranger 02-10-2007 12:34 PM

My top 10 hardly changes because of I listen to mostly funeral doom.

Neoteric 02-10-2007 12:35 PM

So you listen to the same 10 bands? @__@

the2stranger 02-10-2007 12:36 PM

No. :p

But FD bands usually have so many long songs that they never end up in my top 10. I rarely listen to anything else. so nothing changes there.

Tyler 02-10-2007 12:37 PM

No but Funeral Doom songs are like, required to be at least 45 minutes long.

Apocalypticon 02-10-2007 01:33 PM

I'm considering reseting my stats once I get to 10k tracks. Yes or no? Discuss.

Tyler 02-10-2007 01:35 PM

I reset when I hit about 15,000. Only reset if your tracks don't accurately reflect your taste anymore.

Apocalypticon 02-10-2007 01:36 PM

Thats the main reason I'm thinking of doing it. My list is to over populated with bands I haven't listened to since last spring.

Permanent Solution 02-10-2007 01:39 PM

I've always thought if your list doesn't reflect your tastes well anymore that's just a good challenge to listen to more music that does...oh well.

Plus truth be told charts will always be weighted towards bands with lots of short songs as opposed to bands with a few short ones so charts can't be taken too too seriously.

Dr. Jake Destructo 02-10-2007 01:46 PM

It seems like an absurd idea, but I wonder how hard it would be to clock how many hours/minutes you listen to a band.

Tyler 02-10-2007 01:47 PM

Yet some bands, like Diabolical Masquerade, get completely shat on. Their "Death Design" album is split into 116 or so segments, so some of them are so short that they don't get scrobbled. I feel like there should be a "time" chart, or something.

Honestly, to have it say like, "listened to 5 hours of Opeth this week"

/beaten by Jake.

It couldn't be too hard to implement.

Apocalypticon 02-10-2007 01:48 PM

yeah see thats the problem I've been getting more into post-rock and I've always been big on folk/neofolk/ambient and BM which means I'm gonna be listening to alot mor 7 song 1 hour albums, than if I were listening to a 9 song 40 minute thrash album.

And I don't want to listen to music just to get it on my profile, I wanna listen to music cause its what I feel like listening to.

Tyler 02-10-2007 01:50 PM
And I don't want to listen to music just to get it on my profile, I wanna listen to music cause its what I feel like listening to.
last.fm always corrupts that idea, seemingly, ha.

Dr. Jake Destructo 02-10-2007 01:52 PM

Yeah definitely. Sometimes I'll leave my computer whilse listening to an album and just let it play through...

"Meh, they need the bump on my last.fm." :p

Tyler 02-10-2007 01:56 PM

I've left it on sometimes just to make up for my iPod plays, like, I'll make a playlist. Eventually I'll have to bite the bullet and attempt scrobbling my iPod though.

Apocalypticon 02-10-2007 01:57 PM

I do the exact same thing. I'll go eat supper or something while leaving my computer running just in an attempt to make my charts seem more equal.
