Devin the Dude - Waitin' to Inhale Pharoahe Monch - Desire Little Brother - The Getback Sean Price - Jesus Price Superstar Brother Ali - The Undisputed Truth Percee P - Perseverance Worth checking out. |
pharoahe monch - desire is amazing, but theres not much else i've just been discovering old classics since not much new stuff is worth listening to.
|
Nothing was as bad as 2005. There were like 2 albums worth listening to.
I like a couple releases this year. I consider Marco Polo, Pharaohe Monch, and CunninLynguists new albums great. Jay-Z and Chamillionaire were surprisingly good. The Canibus album was fun too. |

hahah
This is excellent. Jay-Z in his prime too. jokes i dig Jay-Z. |
Any fans of the Artifacts?
I found a bunch of their rarities/demos/remixes and they rule. |
Been digging Ras Kass recently, checked out a couple of his songs, my favourite one so far being Nature Of The Threat. Amazing song, although quite long.

He's on top form. My favourite hip hop album of the year without a doubt. |

At least somebody understands. Which albums do you have? |
Why doesn't rap have it's own category like Punk?
|
no kidding.
We need a rap forum. |
punk is not music **** dat
|
Wo now, let's not be hatin here. I post primarily in the Punk forum but I also quite enjoy Hip-Hop and Rap and post in this thread.
But people have been saying they want a Hip-Hop/Rap forum for a while now but nothing ever happens. |
Listening to Kano - London Town at the moment. Very talented, and ridiculously young (20 years old) this is his debut album. Anyone else into him?
|
Don't know if the sarcasm detector is working or not on Spat Out. You f'real?
|
he's a euro
Cilvaringz - I is such a good record. |
Pretty sure London Town is Kano's second album Interstate, I havn't listened to the new one but the 1st one was supposedly better so maybe check that out. Damon Albarn's on London Town though, so I kinda want to listen to it.
Finally got around to getting that Little Brother album ATM, it's ace. Thanks :) |

Badass, I just got That's Them. I hope it's as good as the first one. |
Between A Rock & A Hard Place is better, but both are fun. El da Sensei has a new album I believe, I should check it out.
|
Let me know how it is, I'm interested in that.

GZA - Liquid Swords
I like it a lot. The timbre of GZA's voice, RZA's beats, the choruses, the idiosyncratic GZA themes. Standout tracks for me are "Liquid Swords", "Gold" and "Swordsman". Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Haven't given this many listens yet, but it isn't love at first hearing. Anyone want to point out the highlights? |
The more I listen to Guerilla Black the more I think it's Biggie back from the dead. He even looks like him...

It did take me a long time to really appreciate the album, though, as it is very packed lyrically with its own style. |

Liquid Swords is perfect. The soundclip for the intro is chilling.

Ice Cream and Wu Gambinos got me into OB4CL
