I think Dream Theater have much more interesting and varied music than Rage/Audioslave, though they have some awsome songs I think DT are much better song writers.
I agree with this point.

nowitzki 10-15-2005 06:22 AM

RATM were the band that first got me into R&M, and they were my favourite band for years so were hugely influetial for me. However now I do find DT's music more interesting which is why they have become my new favourite band :p .
Although I agree Morello has much much more stage presence than JP, I don't think that's even questionable.

scenesfromatheater 10-15-2005 10:11 AM

Toms amazing foot stomps make me laugh, and his awsome caps.

Darkness 10-15-2005 10:23 AM

Not to mention he can jump 4 feet in the air no problem.

scenesfromatheater 10-15-2005 10:33 AM

its probably his slick white trainers
Not to mention he can jump 4 feet in the air no problem.
Not bad for a 40 year old.

scenesfromatheater 10-15-2005 10:43 AM

Petrucci looks a lot younger than Morello even though they are roughly the same age.....what an interesting fact.
I've had 'In The Name Of God' so horribly stuck in my head today it's absolutely crazy.
scenesfromatheater 10-15-2005 12:55 PM

Theres always one

Metallion#666 10-15-2005 01:03 PM

Sad that RATM broke up.

scenesfromatheater 10-15-2005 01:29 PM

and sad that audioslave havent...ooooohhhhh.....

Lord Abortion 10-15-2005 01:33 PM
and sad that audioslave havent...ooooohhhhh.....
Haha, I hate them both, but flaming a popular band as I do with Pantera and RATM regularly gets you nowhere...

red barchetta 10-15-2005 01:37 PM

audioslave arent that bad... they are no way as good as RATM, but still, they are listenable.

RATM splitting wasnt really a bad thing - they were going downhill after their debut. they never managed to write a song as good as Killing in the Name or Take the power back in their other albums.

nowitzki 10-15-2005 01:40 PM

I can't really blame the other guys from not wanted to carry on working with Zack though I suppose, while he's an incredible vocalist and frontman it takes him ages to come up with new material. Thats why the RATM albums were so few and far between. And we still await his solo album...

i totally forgot about his album. thanks for reminding me :p

scenesfromatheater 10-15-2005 01:47 PM

It will never come out...he's too lazy.....maybe.....yes how about going back onto the subject of DT?

Darkness 10-15-2005 03:17 PM

Take it to the Rage thread, it could use some new posters. Theres also information about Zacks performance on October 7th, and some info about his solo album. And no, he's not lazy, he has his reasons for taking so long.

nowitzki 10-15-2005 04:18 PM

Zack performed recently? Have you got a link to the RATM thread, search isn't working right now

temporary 10-15-2005 04:35 PM
Not bad for a 40 year old.
Bah, Pete Townsend can, and he's like sixty. But then again, trying to have better stage presence than Pete Townsend is like trying to be more powerful than god, except harder.

Its only a few pages back, also visit www.zdlr.net for more info.

Well thinking about Axl and Chinese Democracy makes Zack seem like a speed demon.

10? 11?

A loooong time.
He said on the Bodokan DVD that if he had no chance at being 'cool' because he holds his guitar so high. I don't have a problem with it, it's the music produced that counts.
I think he was half joking. He doesn't care.

Well, anyway, anyone know where i can get a DT shirt in Melbourne, Australia?

Chu 10-15-2005 11:58 PM

Melbourne is the best place to get shirts!
I'm not sure the name of the shop, or even the street for certain, but I believe it's somewhere on Swanston, you can't miss it, the front of the shop is all decked out in bongs etc. Your usual metalhead place :thumb:

Vbulliten got upgraded and I think MX changed the style.
Vbulliten got upgraded and I think MX changed the style.
I knew it got updated yesterday, and I liked it. But it looks different today. The names on top of the post annoys me. I guess I'll get used to it.
