Juan's idea for a shirt to make to wear tomorrow = I'm going to permi marker "Spreading Beats all over the world, spreading rhymes all over your ears"

Or something like that.
SUGGESTIONS!

A few weeks ago I made my friend a Crass patch for her birthday. I've made her a few patches before too. When I gave it to her I said "you know, you could make this yourself. That's kind of the point... being that it's DIY" And she said "oh, I never even thought of that"

How silly.

real_low_mind 10-03-2005 09:04 PM

is there any way you can write on a black shirt & it will wash out? i painted on 3 with acrylic paint & it's still there. i used markers on white shirts but obviously you can't do that with black shirts..

I think you are just being overly cautious. I did say he was cool except for...

Brain Toad 10-04-2005 04:14 PM

I had a shirt idea the other day, but I've been a failure so far in working it out.

It will have a picture of Mitch Hedberg with the words "That ****er eats cake" under it. I don't want to do screen printing because it can be expensive, so I'm trying to make a stencil of his face using photshop, but so far I've failed.

RudeBoyStompin 10-04-2005 05:25 PM

stencilrevolution.com has some good tutorials on how to make stencils with photoshop.

Brain Toad 10-04-2005 07:23 PM

Yeah I was using theirs, it was just coming out insanely complicated, but I may still use it. I only really need the general shape of his face and the long hair, Mitch fans will know whats up.

Brain Toad 10-04-2005 07:38 PM

Ha, using a better picture I made a better stencil
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v151/PunkRockLoser666/DIY/Other/mitchstencilcopy.jpg

A lot of the smaller details will be skipped, of course, but I got a general shape there that Mitch fans will reconize, and non Mitch fans will think its some weird unibomber.

With a black shirt, bleach pen or white acrylic paint.

real_low_mind 10-05-2005 05:56 AM

wouldn't bleach pen permanently bleach it?
& i tried painting it, the paint's still on...i want something that will come off

Flagjacket 10-05-2005 01:36 PM

Dammit, I tried fading a jacket last ngiht, it didn't turn out so well. I just put it in a tub with water mixed with bleach, but didn't realize thaat the parts folderd over wouldn't get faded.

What a lot of cheap taggers around where I live do is take the free stickers they have at the post office, and write on those, and stick them everywhere. It's a really crappy way to make stickers, though.

If you do it right, it actually looks pretty good. Paint markers and everything on those can make some pretty cool stickers.

Way too crowded, too many patches. And the sideways back patch looks kind of odd. Good selection of patches though.

TheNowhereman42 10-05-2005 10:26 PM

I got a jacket for like 8 bucks at target and I'm slowly putting logos on it in my silkscreening class. So far I've got the Chumbawamba - Never Mind The Ballots logo on my sleeve, the broken gun Anarchy & Peace Crass logo and a really big Flux of Pink Indians logo on screens ready to print, and a path I made that says Leftover Crizack in little letters made out of hearts. I'll post pictures when its more done in like a week or so.

But seriusly, Silkscreening is such a badass class.

Your jacket sounds nicer than the ones posted.

mole 10-06-2005 02:29 PM

how is getting a jacket at target different than a jacket from wal-mart?

skankthenspank 10-06-2005 02:32 PM

there are more gilfs at target than walmart (grannies id like to ****)

Rise Me Up 10-06-2005 02:43 PM

That would've been funny, but you put it in parenthasis and that made it not funny.

Brain Toad 10-06-2005 02:57 PM
how is getting a jacket at target different than a jacket from wal-mart?
Target doesn't ruin or destory a community with its prices. I'm going on a community level, if I went global, then Target would be as bad as Wal Mart, but I'm focusing on how every community that gets a Wal Mart loses all small business, and everything revolves around their 'low' prices.

Rise Me Up 10-06-2005 03:00 PM

I had an idea: Could I spray bleach/water mixed onto a shirt using a stencil to make the logo faded on?

Test it first.

skankthenspank 10-06-2005 04:14 PM

Yes, I would test it first but it sounds like it could look really good, I might even try it myself.

ThisUserIsAPipebomb 10-06-2005 05:38 PM

I had alot less patches, and I think it looks better with more.

I like it busy, although, if my art skills were existent at all, I would just paint the back instead of using the patch.

Liebensaft 10-06-2005 06:51 PM

I'm kind of envious. I like every band the authentic-looking punk kids at my school like but I really don't dress the part. I'm normally sporting a t-shirt and jeans. I just can't see myself in the patched denim. Ah well. Punk is all about the music and the mindset right?
