They are real, but I never liked those, even when I ate meat.

the2stranger 01-22-2008 10:37 AM

hehe.
I've tried Norwegian food which was pretty good.
And well, as far as Swedish goes, I've tried Kjötteboller.
Nice.

Norwegian food was nice: Fiskeboller, Pölser i lömpe, Rokfisk.

Poland has some good food too;
Greece is great indeed!
Italian bores me meanwhile... pasta, pasta, pizza, pasta, pasta, pizza, ....
Austria has some specials too... but most of it is just "heavy" - you have to search for the good food.
Russian food is good too, but in restaurants too expensive ^^

i'm going to make my toast :D

Tyr 01-22-2008 10:41 AM

Well, we have lutfisk and surströmming. And grisfötter (trotters from a pig). All those are disgusting.

the2stranger 01-22-2008 10:42 AM

And uh, how's it called:
Sörsild?

Haring in sugar water?

Tyr 01-22-2008 10:45 AM

We call it inlagd sill (pickled herring).

the2stranger 01-22-2008 10:46 AM

But really, nothing beats a steak.
I really love that.

The markets is mainly for immigrants or ethnic families here. theres an asian one somewhere as well, but its mainly greek, italian, portugese, and eastern european cause thats the type of people that live here. there are great selection of sausages and kielbasas and whatnot and so many cheeses. Proper real cheeses that arent plastic. They have the best fresh vegies in town as well. Best fruit as well tbh

the2stranger 01-22-2008 10:50 AM

Fresh markets > super markets.
Have you ever tried Swedish food? Don't.
Inlagd sill == win

OK, I don't know how that is, but I have eaten a Polish food very similar to it.

gmoneyguy 01-22-2008 12:12 PM

the2stranger 01-22-2008 12:14 PM

Will punkisdead do as a genre?

EDIT:
Damn this, last.fm isn't scrobbling my tracks.

gmoneyguy 01-22-2008 12:15 PM

have you updated your plug in?

the2stranger 01-22-2008 12:25 PM

Yeah, last week or so it asked for updates and so I did.'
It's saying it scrobbles, but not showing anything on my profile page.
Maybe the servers are just busy.

Iluvatar 01-22-2008 12:26 PM

Ugh, whenever I try and start firefox it pretty much freezes and then takes up all available free memory.

I hate using IE.

Kage 01-22-2008 12:28 PM

Lol are you on a ten year old computer or something?

gmoneyguy 01-22-2008 12:29 PM

Are you running on 512 ram?

Petey: It maybe that the servers are busy, or it may be something with your firewall.

John, there is a way to conserve some memory in Firefox but a better and simpler recommendation for Windows users is K-Meleon:

I seriously wish this browser were ported to Linux...

Iluvatar 01-22-2008 12:30 PM

I'm running on a gig of ram.

And its never done this before, it literally just started doing this as my computer turned on. I really have no idea what it could be.

edit: No the problem is I've never had any memory issues with firefox until this weirdass problem today :(.

gmoneyguy 01-22-2008 12:32 PM

it may be because of startup process that initially require priority. You can opt them to not start right away.

1338 h4x0r 01-22-2008 12:33 PM

Go to about:config in the address bar, then search for the key browser.cache.memory.enable. Set that to 'false'. Likewise, find browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewers and set that to '0'. That helps me a lot tbh.

Iluvatar 01-22-2008 12:35 PM

Yeah I've always done that. Thats not the problem =(.

I'm probably going to try out that other browser as it at least seems interesting, thanks yo.

pate 01-22-2008 01:10 PM
