So yeah, my brother's getting a guitar for Christmas. We've been suggesting multiple songs to learn or whatever, and thus far he wants to learn Aces High.

 :p

I'm hoping he gets good. I can model him to how I like.
Bitch slap him until he respects the bass.

What guitar is he getting?

Schecter C-1 Classic = my favorite guitar. So sexy.

i just found out that a store near me has some Electro-Harmonix pedals, so that's why i asked.
and i've heard people talk about the pedal on here, so, 2 questions:

1. about how much does a Double Muff cost?
2. should i get one?

Oh, trust me. He loves bass. He won't touch my GT-7 because he says "I don't wanna touch it cuz I'm not good enough." He always asks me to play Too Many Puppies and dude...he's always ****ing humming the harmonics chorus in Wooten's "You Can't Hold No Groove." Always. He always wants me to play it. He loves it.

However, he loves guitar to death. He's also more of a metal person. He wants to play Maiden, Hammerfall, etc etc. I can't wait. :D And no doubt he'll get into Primus either. :D

For a while I put a bunch of songs on a CD for him and he listened to Rime of the Ancient Mariner over...and over...and over...

...and over...and over...and over...and over...

Well, you get the picture.

Then he'd switch to Run to the Hills...

Then back to Rime of the Ancient Mariner. :p

Urrk, my brother does that, only with shitty R&B songs.

I wish I had a sibling to jam with. :upset:

My older sister plays clarinet and piano - not really the most exciting instruments to jam with without a drummer, or some sort of melody instrument. My younger brother is completely un-musical, so I've got no hope with him.

I'm incredibly jealous of Victor Wooten in that respect.

My mum plays guitar, but not her own stuff, and my brother is musically insolent.

If he hums Wooten, there is hope for him yet.

Foxfire 12-21-2004 11:15 AM

Indeed.

He's starting early, too, which is good. When I'm in college and in dire need of money, I can get him to do gigs with me. :p

bottlerocket 12-21-2004 11:16 AM

Next he just needs to starting saying things like "this amp has thump and snap," and "I'm in the pocket!" and he'll be set for life.

I've watched my brother play online games.

First of all, he is quite good at FPS (he takes after me  :p). For example, I watched him play Medal of Honor once, got the top score by 10 kills, then he typed, in perfect grammar, "Good game but my brother has to play now. Bye."

Rollo47 12-21-2004 11:20 AM

I started young - violin when I was eight, bass when I was ten.

"oh who iz this? r u his dad?"
"What the ****?"

I thought only 5 people in the world, including Alex, Ted, and I, had perfect grammar.

:upset:

Heh, just joking.

the grammer is, of the bass forum, really good because its easy to read and we learnt it at a young age because our teachers demanded us to when we were younger and smaller and our voices were higher and most of us did not plya bass.

That's something only cartoons have!

There was this comedian, who said something like "I have no problem with women, I love them, but I HATE feminists. When I have to call it a 'personhole' and call it a 'congressperson,' WE'VE GONE TOO FAR."

grammar

A formal definition of the syntactic structure of a language
(see syntax), normally given in terms of production rules
which specify the order of constituents and their
sub-constituents in a sentence (a well-formed string in the
language). Each rule has a left-hand side symbol naming a
syntactic category (e.g. "noun-phrase" for a natural
language grammar) and a right-hand side which is a sequence
of zero or more symbols. Each symbol may be either a
terminal symbol or a non-terminal symbol. A terminal symbol
corresponds to one "lexeme" - a part of the sentence with
no internal syntactic structure (e.g. an identifier or an
operator in a computer language). A non-terminal symbol is
the left-hand side of some rule.

One rule is normally designated as the top-level rule which
gives the structure for a whole sentence.

A grammar can be used either to parse a sentence (see
parser) or to generate one. Parsing assigns a terminal
syntactic category to each input token and a non-terminal
category to each appropriate group of tokens, up to the level
of the whole sentence. Parsing is usually preceded by
lexical analysis. Generation starts from the top-level rule
and chooses one alternative production wherever there is a
choice.

analysis.

Spaceman Spiff 12-21-2004 11:28 AM

my grammar is excellent, i just choose not to type with capital letters on here.
unless i am typing a title or name, for example: i like listening to Primus.

Rollo47 12-21-2004 11:28 AM

Anyone know a decent looping pedal?

bottlerocket 12-21-2004 11:28 AM

**** you Fox, I didn't think "grammer" was a word. BS right there...

By the way, I know it's spelled grammar. I remember in 5th grade I was the only person to get 100 on a grammar test because, at the top, the teacher told us to write "Grammar Test," and everyone but me wrote "Grammer." :p
