Hello all, for the time being, you help me choose a topic for my paper that's due on Monday. There are three topics to choose from:

1. Describe Virgil's use of the Illadic paradigms of Hector and Achilles for the roles and characterizations of Aeneas and Turnus in the final books of the [i]Aeneid[/i].

2. Like the [i]Iliad[/i], the [i]Aeneid[/i] ends abruptly and in a way we would not expect. Yet the ending of the [i]Aeneid[/i] is so unlike that of the [i]Iliad[/i] that some readers have concluded that the work is incomplete.

Assuming that the [i]Aeneid[/i] as we have it largely fulfills its creator's plan for the work as a whole, discuss how the ending of the [i]Aeneid[/i] influences its reader's [re]evaluation of Aeneas, his mission, and the vision of Roman achievement presented by the poem.

3. Compare Aeneas' visit to the Underworld with Odysseus' visit in the [i]Odyssey[/i]. How does Virgil transform his Homeric model, and for what purposes?
