The one I have is 192kb/s. The link is posted somewhere in the Agalloch chatbox on last.fm. Been checking that page several times a day for the past few days.

Mikk 11-03-2010 05:09 PM

Yeah, I saw that link but its been deleted. I think I found one though.

Crysis 11-03-2010 05:33 PM

Yeah it's a little under 90MB in size and 192kb/sec. The album itself is ok, pretty good but not outstanding.

Aakon_Keetreh 11-03-2010 05:34 PM

eh im in no rush to get it

Crysis 11-03-2010 05:35 PM

"Black Lake Nidstång" is head and shoulders above anything else on the album.

Morumbar 11-03-2010 05:36 PM

I was starting to wonder how I was going to hold out until November 23... Been listening to Agalloch almost non-stop for the past few days in anticipation for Marrow of the Spirit.

I love the whole thing really. They've really done something they haven't really done before on this one. Black metal influences are much stronger, and the production takes some getting used to (especially the thin lead guitar), but it works really well.

Terrifyer 11-03-2010 05:38 PM

ive been listening to the 2 released songs and they really aren't anything special. don't know if i can even be bothered to download the leak :/

Crysis 11-03-2010 05:42 PM

Now that I've heard it I think I could have managed to wait another 20 days.

It's good, but six months from now when I go to listen to an Agalloch album I can see myself passing on this in favor of The Mantle or Pale Folklore easily.

Aakon_Keetreh 11-03-2010 05:47 PM

agalloch couldnt be amazing forever

Crysis 11-03-2010 05:50 PM

Yeah I was pretty psyched for this album but, judging from the massive quantities of meh released by good bands this year, I was kind of expecting this to happen.

Your opinion may differ, though, and mine might change. Just my initial thoughts.

Aakon_Keetreh 11-03-2010 05:53 PM

im in no hurry to even listen to it

TheSpirit 11-03-2010 05:53 PM

Yah this year has been pretty awful with bigger bands releasing albums except for like Darkthrone, Burzum and Enslaved. Although they were quite a few bigger black/death releases this year by some pretty well established bands

Tyler 11-03-2010 05:59 PM

Even if it's not as good as their past albums, I'm sure it's still good. You've got to factor in expectations with reputation, and the fact you're going on a first impression.

Crysis 11-03-2010 06:02 PM

Yeah I'm definitely taking into account in the fact that I've only listened to it twice, so this is still a very early opinion. It is still good, and worth listening to, but right now it doesn't seem up to their usual standards of quality. The experimentation is all over the place, especially in Black Lack Nidstång with the vocals and electronics, as well as To Drown.

Yeah, both very good points.

Though idk if my opinion is going to help anyone. Agalloch are my favourite band and I guess maybe I am a bit of a fanboy. :p

Mikk 11-03-2010 06:07 PM

its still really good guys

Morumbar 11-03-2010 06:11 PM

Don't worry man, I'm not holding anything against you. Everyone has their own opinion. Plus, maybe in time my opinion on the album will change too, but what I noticed on the two sampled tracks is that I grew to love them more with each listen, and I've listened to them a hell of a lot.

Juddybear 11-03-2010 07:54 PM
