Oh man, about Max Payne. My friend rented that way back when it came out a couple years ago on xbox, and he was the only one who actually cared about beating games. So we were all taking turns, and there was one part where you go in an elevator. One of my friends threw a bunch of grenades in the elevator and then saved the game, and my friend tried for (no joke) 2 hours non-stop to get out alive. He finally did, then he saved it and put the game away so we wouldn't play it any more.

MatthewMeredith 08-15-2006 01:54 PM
The trippiest part of Max Payne is where you have to play in his nightmare.
Is that in the second one? You're walking through his house following the sound of a crying/screaming child and all of a sudden the walls are covered with blood and then everything's black and you have to follow the dim line on the floor? If so, I had mad nightmares from that part.....

Janeway 08-15-2006 01:56 PM

It was the Happy Happy Joy Joy song that pulled me in.

Log too.

I watched six straight episodes of Star Trek Voyager again last night. Normally I get bored with other TV shows after two, but this is great. Every episode is a new story, and there aren't long, boring sub-stories that I don't want to wach.

Haha, is that the elevator on the side of the skyscraper? With the chopper floating around outside? If so, then that's right at the end... :p

Nah that's the first. The second one has the guy in the big Captain Baseball Bat Boy suit.

Jezen 08-15-2006 02:06 PM

Oh god, early New Breed is harder than later New Breed for me! Only because my right foot can't play 16ths at 80bpm. :upset:

What about Mega Babies? Why did these shows go off air.

I don't remember. All I remember is laughing hysterically for 2 hours at how mad he was getting. I know we'd been playing it for probably 2 or 3 hours by the time he threw the grenades.

Futuro 08-15-2006 02:48 PM

I just got a job at guitar center.....

I have been practicing my acting chops to get ready.

"Hey would you like a shiny new set of ZBT's with that stick purchase?"

"Or how about this brand new Trippalist!? It is probably gonna change the world forever."

Senseless Apprentice 08-15-2006 02:51 PM

Yesterday I found a crack in my favourite crash: 15" A Custom. I went to the shop today to pick up another one, and it turned out to be much thicker than my old one. Not what I want. So I went back, and picked up a thinner version, the 15" A Custom Fast Crash. Much closer sounding to my old one, but maybe a little too thin. Not enough power. Ahhhh! So frustrating. I am so sad my favourite crash broke. Hugs and sympathies are encouraged. :upset:

Haha, that's awesome! It should be pretty fun. I mean...would you rather be flipping burgers? Awesome man!

Berk 08-15-2006 02:52 PM

I've always wanted to work at a music shop/store. I think when I'm old enough to get a job I'm going to apply at St. Johns..

Jezen 08-15-2006 03:03 PM

SA, how come you have so much money?!

Oh and i'm pushing through the weak foot problem. Now on New Breed 5:2A. Must feed on ravioli before continuing.

NCDrummer 08-15-2006 03:09 PM

ok totally off subject:

i'm trying to put V For Vendetta on my comp. i'm gonna convert it into MPEG or something so my bro can watch it on his iPod while he's in Iraq.

question:

i looked at the biggest file on the dvd and it had a lot of parts to it. will it be kinda fragmented on the ipod into those parts?

will this even work?

MatthewMeredith 08-15-2006 03:21 PM

I just ate a duck.

trysthedrummer 08-15-2006 03:23 PM
Damn, I was just playing Deus Ex with a mod I've never used before. I've been through that game at least 10-12 times with/without different mods. Plus you can get it for about $2-3 USD over here... such a steal for one of the greatest games of all time.
Definately. I just took the easy option and shut off some valves then the world collapses. Invisible war isn't as good. cba with it.

I'm upto Aesir plaza now on mp, about 2 and half hours doing it.

^What do you think to the duck?

What? I think the duck tasted good, if that's what you're asking. :p

Jezen 08-15-2006 03:29 PM

Invisible War is crap.

mysticalyeti 08-15-2006 03:29 PM

I got IW in a bundle with my video card... I was afraid to try it and be pissed off. I was waiting for that ****ing game for years, and then I hear all the **** they changed/removed... ;_;

NCDrummer 08-15-2006 03:31 PM

fine...IGNORE ME YOU HOMOS!

Jezen 08-15-2006 03:32 PM

I did enjoy playing basketball in IW though.

MatthewMeredith 08-15-2006 03:33 PM

I'd help, but I don't know shit all about computers, and I don't even own an iPod. Sorry:(

trysthedrummer 08-15-2006 03:40 PM
I did enjoy playing basketball in IW though.
Haha, you could play basketball in the first on in Hells Kitchen. I never got far with it really in IW. I hate the hud and everything, and the way the gun and arm move out of the way when you go upto a wall. And I find it frustrating moving from one place to another, constant loading, just to do these goals.
What? I think the duck tasted good, if that's what you're asking. :p
Yeah :) I've had it a few times. It's...different..

MatthewMeredith 08-15-2006 03:47 PM

I love it... but then again, I love just about all meats... Lamb is #1 though... then deer, then duck, then buffalo, then moose, then cow, then chicken, then pork.

maniac0796 08-15-2006 03:51 PM

Duck is really nice. I prefer it to chicken. Try roasting potatoes in duck fat. It's the nicest thing ever.

MatthewMeredith 08-15-2006 03:56 PM

Have you ever had Turducken?

maniac0796 08-15-2006 03:58 PM

Nope, never eard of it

trysthedrummer 08-15-2006 03:58 PM

Is that a joke. Never heard of that.

Is it that brown duck, that doesn't smell nice sort of duck?

MatthewMeredith 08-15-2006 03:58 PM

Duck stuffed in a chicken stuffed in a turkey.

Marvelous.

maniac0796 08-15-2006 04:01 PM

Wtf! Apart from the turkey (i hate turkey because most turkey is really dry, and therefore it sucks, but juicy turkey i nice), that'd be the most awesome dish ever.

Man, i'm gonna get my mum to make that.

trysthedrummer 08-15-2006 04:03 PM

You'll need a big turkey!

Can't beat a nice roast. :D I'm sad.

maniac0796 08-15-2006 04:05 PM

Meh, roast is okay, but i just takes too much effort to eat. And when we have roast its usually on sunday evening when i come back frm work, so having to stay at the table for like half an hour to eat a big meal is like, the last thing i need after working 8 1/2 hours

MatthewMeredith 08-15-2006 04:06 PM
Wtf! Apart from the turkey (i hate turkey because most turkey is really dry, and therefore it sucks, but juicy turkey i nice), that'd be the most awesome dish ever.

Yea I agree but with the way the Turducken is cooked, the turkey stays very moist due to the steam/juices coming from the other two birds inside it.

I think you can get a really good recipe off the internet; I'll look for a link.

http://www.thesalmons.org/lynn/turducken.html

That's with a chicken in a duck, but we didn't have a big enough duck so we just switched it around.

If you search it on Wiki, you will find the Osturduckencorpheail, which is the following:

Ostrich>Turkey>Duck>Chicken>Cornish game hen>Pheasant>Quail

BTW, cornish game hen is also one of my favorites.

maniac0796 08-15-2006 04:10 PM

Fair enough. I spose the turkey would get nice and moist roasting with the duck, because duck are real fatty and give off loads of oil and stuff.

MatthewMeredith 08-15-2006 04:46 PM

Mmm now it's time for some leftover homemade pie...

And after that, it's skimboarding time! So, I bid you MXers farewell!

Ciao!

MeaninglessPhoto 08-15-2006 04:48 PM

The turducken looks kinda nasty. But thats probably because I dont eat meat. I dunno.

MatthewMeredith 08-15-2006 05:09 PM

How do you live?

MeaninglessPhoto 08-15-2006 05:13 PM

Protein bars, beer and veggies.

And if I have a craving for meat, I go to Mcdonalds and get a big burger then that sets me straight for a good few weeks.

MatthewMeredith 08-15-2006 05:14 PM

Oh so you're not actually a vegitarian... You just avoid meat...

Senseless Apprentice 08-15-2006 05:21 PM
SA, how come you have so much money?!
I don't. If I did, I would go out and buy a recording studio right NOW. I scrambled up all the used hardware and cymbals I could find that I don't use any more, and sold them to the drum shop. I only payed $50 for the crash thanks to trade ins.

I barely make any money too. I work for a sound company, and they don't call me out to work too often. I also mow my ex-g/f's lawn for $20 a week. Here is what makes me a successful saver:

1) I don't have a g/f that manipulates me into buying her dinners/jewelry/all other materialistic garbage.
2) I don't go out and buy materialistic garbage or expensive food. I only spend my money to support my music i.e. drum gear, ipod, recording gear etc.
3) I live at home so I don't have any bills to pay. My college is covered by financial aid.

UPDATE: Okay, I went to the shop for the third time, and I came home with a Zildjian K 16" Think Crash. Oh my Lord....I didn't know cymbals could sound this good! I am so content right now it's not even funny. But thanks for the hug Futuro.
