Went to see Santana w/Los Lonely Boys last night. It was insane. LLB's mix wasn't the best (too much drums, not enough bass) but their playing was great. Of course, Santana had about 20 people onstage and they were all incredible at their instruments.

This reminds me of a joke: How do you say "How far to heaven?" in Spanish?

Samba Pa Ti.

:D I slay me

thickasabrick 06-18-2005 12:11 PM

I'd wanna see Santana. Does he play songs from throughout his whole career? Or does he only do more recent songs except for the occasional classic?

JonG 06-18-2005 12:12 PM

Santana is great. He has played with everybody. He's the collaboration whore. I'd love to see him, his tone amazes me.

Yeah he's got great tone. Anyone know what kind of amps he uses?

JonG 06-18-2005 12:17 PM

I believe he uses Mesa, Fender and Marshall.

I think someone posted a picture awhile ago similar to this one, but this is different.

robo2448 06-18-2005 12:33 PM

That's a really, really long link. Cool though :thumb:

lunch998 06-18-2005 12:34 PM

I only have about 25 right now, but it's fun to keep looking.

lunch998 06-18-2005 12:37 PM

Is the full-size image not displaying for you?
Is it true Paul McCartney is turning 63 sometime soon? If that's true, I'm excited for when he turns 64. There's gotta be some sort of celebration going on worldwide.
I was just thinking about that the other day.

Awesome link Lunch, I found quite a few.

lunch998 06-18-2005 01:18 PM

I just got a copy of Wheels of Fire in vinyl for a buck at my guitar teacher's garage sale. It's a bit scratchy in parts, but it's definitely worth it for just one or two of the good songs. Goodness knows I have enough copies of White Room lying around in different forms that I don't need the copy on the one I just bought. Heh.

Oh and guys, I just found this.

Mahavishnu Orchestra music book. Looks pretty cool. Can any of you vouch for its accuracy? I think I'll save all that stuff to my computer (so I don't lose it) if it's good.

magicbus 06-18-2005 03:09 PM

That looks pretty accurate, but I'm sure it's hard as hell to play.

White_heat 06-18-2005 03:12 PM

I just bought

King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King

It's amazing, i really like it

Illmatic 06-18-2005 03:13 PM

Could someone upload some Mahavishnu Orchestra for me? I heard some at my friend's house today and it was pretty good.

It's a great album the whole way through.

ATM 06-18-2005 03:14 PM

What did you hear?

RobNY 06-18-2005 03:30 PM
That looks pretty accurate, but I'm sure it's hard as hell to play.
Hard as hell is right. I'm probably more interested in checking out chord progressions. My skill level isn't, and won't be anytime soon, at John's level. Heh.

Illmatic 06-18-2005 03:34 PM
What did you hear?
I don't remember.

Haha. He should try Birds of Fire or Noonward Race. If he pops on AIM really quick I can send it to him. "bobslob04" is my name. EDIT: My work is done here. :naughty:
