Possibly some of the n00bites

Can you play that Galloping? I can't, I can manage about a minute, and then my fingers die...
yeah, i can play it.. i have never learned it completely so i usually play along out of key :p i learn more and more every time i do it though... :p

Josh 12-29-2004 06:51 AM

caught somewhere in time is IMO probably one of maidens best, and one of my favourite tracks. i love the bass line, its just amazing. also the bass in number of the beast kicks a$$, a classic bass line.

All of Steves Basslines are kick arse...except for Wasted years...not really a bass line :naughty:

I reccomend getting Iron Maiden's self-titled cd. Every song is awsome on it and I listen to that CD moreso than just about any other. I think Paul Dianno was an excellent vocalist with fantastic vocal range. All the riffs are extremely catchy such as the ones in Phantom of the Opera and the chorus of Remember Tommorow.

Some people like it and some (Steve Harris) say the Production is crap :thumb:

GurS 12-29-2004 02:05 PM

production wise it ain't to good.

IMO BNW had the best production on it.

Thunder Fingers 12-29-2004 02:13 PM

Best production? Live at Donnington... oh yeah! BASS! :D

of the studio albums... Powerslave and Somewhere in time...

ashman 12-29-2004 02:24 PM

I think the production on RiR is pretty poor, there is this horrible noise on NOTB...probably from Janick :P

ForiegnPenguin 12-29-2004 02:30 PM

I got a 14/15 on my friends Early Days Maiden quiz. What did you guys get?

ashman 12-29-2004 02:37 PM
I got a 14/15 on my friends Early Days Maiden quiz. What did you guys get?
Huh? Where is that?

ForiegnPenguin 12-29-2004 02:39 PM

On one of the Discs in Early Days it says quiz.

ashman 12-29-2004 03:00 PM

I'll have to take a look see, maybe I missed it...

GurS 12-29-2004 03:24 PM

on the cheap unofficial dvd "legacy of the beast", there's a quiz. I got everything right first time. without even watching the documentary.

i like it, and still think the production is crap. great songs though.
also, wasted years may not have much of a bassline but i still love it.

btoto 12-29-2004 03:50 PM

The first CD is my favourite and like it's production. It's bloody good for 1980. Oh yes, and it's got Paul and Clive on it. :thumb:

BTW, was Dave the only soloist on that album or Denis also wrote some leads???

Josh 12-29-2004 03:52 PM

i'm not sure...he probably wrote some of the leads.

GurS 12-29-2004 03:56 PM

well, i think if my memory serves me correctly denis did the lead on charlotte, didn't he? and there's the twin lead on running free. and i think he did the lead on women in uniform aswell.

ashman 12-29-2004 03:59 PM

Dave did the lead on Women in uniform (on the video), Stratton did one solo on POTO, and all the other songs with twin solos...

YDload 12-29-2004 04:03 PM

Listening to "Hallowed Be Thy Name" on my computer now.

Josh 12-29-2004 04:06 PM

I WOULD have said that.

And Nicko's only ever used a double-kick pedal once, he didn't like it and has since vowed never to use one again.
