Also in the breakdown you should add in some pinch harmonics. I like the lead over the acoustic bit too it sounds calmer then you bust out this solo...ha, the fade out solo thing is interesting. Good solo none the less.

Ragnarok:[/B] Intro is a bit repetitive. If you fool around a little more you could come up with something really cool. Oohh, lyrics are cool, i like em. I like the riff at bar 57. Its very Iron Maiden-esque. Dude this is an awesome solo! It's perfect...period....As is the second solo. Good job once again.

[B]Riff 4:[/B] Catchy intro. Your main influence must be Iron Maiden w/o a question. The verse is sweet too. I like how it sounds different from all the others youve done. The main riff repeating a bunch of times was a good idea... The feel of this song is very aggressive to me...the solo is sweet once again. Higher and higher and then the shredding commences....and back to the main riff. This is very good stuff.

My writing process can be pretty random. Usually I start by hearing a riff in my head and tabbing it out or just messing around on the guitar and stumbling upon something cool. Once I have a riff I start checking out other songs to see the kinds of techniques they can use, and use that and theory applied to my own song. Some parts of Ragnarok were written by my rythym guitarist, the verse, prechorus, and chorus. I wrote the intro, the solos, the bass, drums, and lyrics. Lurker I wrote in a matter of 2 days it was just a creative spurt I guess.

Try looking at some different stuff for inspiration. Don't just listen to music, study it. Open up a guitar pro, find out the mode in a song, the techniques used, the harmony between the lead and the rythym. For example the soft acoustic part to Lurker was inspired by Nemesis by Arch Enemy. I saw they took the awesome chorus lead and made an acoustic rythym for it, so I decided I would try something like that out. Also keep in mind drums and bass can make the songs much smoother and help fill in gaps and transitions.

I will have you all recordings hopefully before November, I can't wait for you to hear the real thing.

I just looked at song 2, and wow it was amazing! I can definately see your In Flames influences. Besides a few out of key notes here and there it was great. My only real complaint is in one part you have a lead that repeats for 2 measures, the rythym just goes an octave up in one of them. It'd sound ebtter if you got rid of that measure and went straight to the one with the other powerchord.

The song on it's own should still sounds fine though, even if you usually play it tuned differently.

Yeah it sounded really awesome even in drop c. I thought it was great, sounded a lot like Shadows Fall. The riffs were just amazing, and a totally different style than the first song. Your writing got 1000x better I really hope you have a good band for this stuff.
