Menza by far.
haha why menza?he hasnt been playing forty years like jimmy, and i didnt hear any double bass beats from menza near as good as gars or jimmys

clairvoyant 09-06-2005 08:07 PM

Nick Menza > all other Megadeth drummers

Jimmy DeGrasso was not a very good live drummer.

Gar rocks.

Have you ever watched the She-Wolf drum solo on rude awakening? Its not very impressive plus he screws up.

Nick > Jimmy

willis2441 09-06-2005 08:10 PM

haha.i know jimmy and have seen him play less than two feet in front of me,and he blows away menza by far.the beginning to rust in peace isnt even that good, hell i can play it.

Metalhead1409 09-06-2005 08:10 PM

Has anyone had trouble finding the greatest hits CD in stores? I looked everywhere but i couldn't find it. I live near New Orleans and it wasnt untill I left for the Huricane and went to Texas untill i found a copy of it.

Dude I'm sorry but I think you are the only Megadeth fan who thinks Jimmy is better than Nick or Gar.

Thats like saying Jeff Young > Marty.

im not tryin to make anyone hate me but i know gar and jimmy are better than nick and chuck behler

:D
Maybe not skill wise, definately not skill wise, but I really prefer some of Young's solos... :p

But it's like proven Megadeth fact, best line-up was Menza, Friedman, Ellefson and Mustaine.

willis2441 09-06-2005 08:39 PM

that was the best line up,i do agree.is theyre new drummer any good?

Hells Bells 09-06-2005 08:41 PM

It was their most stable line up... and also the one that created a few of my favourite Megadeth albums :p (Rust in Peace, Countdown to Extinction, Youthanasia).

willis2441 09-06-2005 09:04 PM

so...is "the systen has failed" any good?

MAthiAS 09-06-2005 09:05 PM

Yeah, its very good, and Drover is a pretty capable drummer. He's no Flo Mounier or anything though.

Metalhead1409 09-06-2005 09:06 PM

i heard "Die Dead Enough" and "Of Mice and Men" and liked it but thats the only 2 songs i heard from it.

MAthiAS 09-06-2005 09:07 PM

Blackmail the Universe, Kick the Chair, and Back in the Day are the best songs off TSHF.

willis2441 09-06-2005 09:08 PM
Yeah, its very good, and Drover is a pretty capable drummer. He's no Flo Mounier or anything though.
IMO drumming isnt how many BPM u can do,or how fast u can play double bass, its about putting a backbone onto the song, putting that perfect beat that fits the song into the song.

MAthiAS 09-06-2005 09:09 PM

Okay. Flo Mounier does all that and more. He makes Cryptopsy worth listening to.

what about shadow of deth? Thats a cool song

MAthiAS 09-06-2005 09:27 PM

They're all good, but those three are the highlights for me.

Apocalyptic Raids 09-06-2005 09:44 PM

I said in the report problems thread that our other suggestion was "Megadeth Is Our Business... And Business Is Good!"

SonorKen 09-06-2005 10:39 PM

K, the new name is in! Enjoy!

FlyingPaul_83 09-06-2005 10:40 PM

Yay, thank you SonorKen :thumb:

Chu 09-06-2005 10:40 PM

Sweet.

Thanks Ken.

FatalEnergy 09-06-2005 10:45 PM
They're all good, but those three are the highlights for me.
Yeah, those three are definatley the best. I wonder why a lot of people of don't like TSHF, it's the best Megadeth has done in years.

Huber 09-06-2005 10:55 PM

Nice thread titled guys :thumb:

Yeah, its a solid album. I think Cryptic was better though, even though its not very heavy.

Metalhead1409 09-06-2005 11:22 PM

I like Rust in Peace over all

Apocalyptic Raids 09-06-2005 11:45 PM

mm new thread title. I feel loved :-*

Even though this is a few pages late. I rank the megadeth albums so:

RIP > Peace Sells > SFSGSW (worst acronym ever) > KIMB > the others
Yeah, its very good, and Drover is a pretty capable drummer. He's no Flo Mounier or anything though.
Glen Drover, Shawn Drover, and James MacDonohugh (sp?) didn't play on The System Has Failed...
Glen Drover, Shawn Drover, and James MacDonohugh (sp?) didn't play on The System Has Failed...
I know that, but that's the current lineup, which I believe he was asking for. TSHF just had session musicians (including Poland), which I'm sure you know already.

Jev 09-07-2005 11:01 AM

I thought Mustaine, Ellefson, Menza(he helped out) and Poland played on the new album.
The thread name is awesome.

Dude3 09-07-2005 11:13 AM

Awesome thread name!

IAJP 09-07-2005 11:50 AM

I love this thread's name.

(MP3 Check: I have 30 Megadeth songs on my MP3 player, out of about 105 songs,.)

Jev 09-07-2005 11:51 AM

I wish i had an MP3 player, i got angry at my old one and broke it :(

clairvoyant 09-07-2005 12:21 PM
I thought Mustaine, Ellefson, Menza(he helped out) and Poland played on the new album.

Nope. Just Mustaine, and Chris Poland did a few solos. The rest was session players, one named Jimmy Lee Sloas and I forget the other.

Jev 09-07-2005 12:50 PM

Oic, I dunno where i got the idea of Menza playing on it from.

lightningmetal666 09-07-2005 01:01 PM

I prefer the new album to rust in peace actually. It really is a great thrash record and has a great sound to it. I love Dave and Chris' guitar tones. I still say that countdown to extinction was their best though IMO.

Hey go to www.mi.edu As it turns out at this college the Metal workshop instructor is none other than Marty ****ing Freidman!!!!!

I was talking to this guy in my class who is graduating this year and is going to do the GIT program there and he says that when marty is there, You can actually sit-in with him and he'll do a sick lead over whatever progression you're playing. How ****in' tight is that?

BTW, great thread name. :thumb:

Jev 09-07-2005 01:04 PM

Nah It pales in comparison to RIP.

Father_Jack 09-07-2005 01:06 PM
Nah It pales in comparison to RIP.
123 x Infinity

RIP is just the better of all the albums, no question.
