We are like musical twins.
So I checked out Ghost. Hypnotic Underworld = a truckload of cool so far.
I agree. I've only heard one song, but I really like it.

Roky!

That dude needs to get some of the credit (and cash) that he deserves.
Roky!

I've been listening to "69 Love Songs" from the Magnetic Fields lately, although it's tough to find time to listen to it all straight through.

Well_Respected_Man 04-22-2005 09:28 PM
Talk Talk - Laughing Stock

This album is absolutely stunning. It is impossible to imagine a band of normal guys recording it in some studio somewhere. It's the most cavernous, massive-sounding album I have ever heard.
I've just recently burnt that album but haven't heard it yet, I shall do that soon.

My Digage for today:
Blur - 13
The Seeds - The Seeds
Add N to (X) - Avant Hard
Interpol - Turn on the Bright Lights
Some Easybeats singles

biografiend 04-22-2005 09:33 PM

My day was filled with:
Circulatory System
Man Man
Le Tigre
The Books
Radiohead-Kid A
It is time for my tri-monthly Radiohead obession stage, and I think that Kid A just might overtake Amnesiac for my favorite Radiohead album . How to Disappear Completely is one of the most beautiful songs ever. Period.

br3ad_man 04-22-2005 09:45 PM

Black Mountain are pretty darn awesome.

Aren't they the most wonderful band ever? Their new album Blasting Through is supposed to be out in spring.....

I'm listening to it as we speak. I jumped around to get a taste of it, and so far "Love Is Like A Bottle of Gin" is one of the most amazing things I've heard.

yes. i have a friend who is obsessed with Jeff Mangum and I never wanted to listen to anything he was associated with because of her, but Circulatory System is amazing. aaaaaaaaaand I am excited times a million for their new album.

Luxor 04-22-2005 11:01 PM

The Circulatory System is the shizzz. I haven't listened to them in a while. I listened to TOTC today, though. :thumb:

Agreed.

Today I shall probably be digging Porcupine Tree, Mars Volta and Pixies, as they were all CDs I acquired yesterday. I'm particularly intruiged by Pixies, as I really know nothing by them, and god knows they get praise on here.

br3ad_man 04-23-2005 04:31 AM

I hope you find them more enjoyable than I do.

Wanker 04-23-2005 11:27 AM

i really hope you stick with them, they really are an essential band to at least like. sure they may not be the most complex or even the most "original", even though they are really original, but they add something to music that really was starting to be lost at the time, fun.

give them a few listens to fully appreciate.

asymm 04-23-2005 09:43 PM

Today...

The Books - Lost and Safe
The Go! Team - Thunder, Lightning, Strike
and
Caribou - The Milk of Human Kindness
:D right on!

notwist has a sad, beautiful vibe

Wanker 04-24-2005 02:03 AM

BSS is amazing. Just started listening to them a little while ago. Made up mostly from members of GY!BE.

br3ad_man 04-24-2005 05:47 AM

The Notwist are really good. Nice work Nacho.

charolastra 04-24-2005 08:04 AM

I just bought Feeder's Pushing Senses and i'm loving it.

I'm diggin' it together with
Sonic Youth - Sonic Nurse
Radiohead - Ok Computer

Tomahawk 04-24-2005 08:33 AM

I've been into Manic Street Preachers today, I've finally checked out The Holy Bible, it's good times.

Bandaid 04-24-2005 09:06 AM

digging the first album i ever bought, which has sentimental value for that very reason

The Living End's debut album 'The Living End' great slab of aussie rockabilly

CraigoMac 04-24-2005 09:52 AM

A lot of pixies on the go recently, downloaded Blonde on Blonde and Highway 61 revisited by Bob Dylan, only skirted round a few tracks but its very emotional folky stuff, I like it. Also getting into the Libertines. Plus Dispatch.

Zappa 04-24-2005 10:01 AM

Sam Rivers

Iai 04-24-2005 10:18 AM

I downloaded a couple of tracks from You Forget It In People and wasn't impressed at all.

Luxor 04-24-2005 11:25 AM

BSS are awesome. They're even more awesome live, though.

Iai 04-24-2005 03:00 PM

Well, an awful lot of people whose tastes I respect love the hell out of them, so I am going to give the full album a try at some point.

i.e. when my PC stops sucking.

The Ashtray Girl 04-24-2005 03:04 PM

I'm really really really digging Pixies now, and I'm also enjoying some Weezer.

Iai 04-24-2005 03:09 PM

My recent diggage, so my posts in here can have a point for once -

Nick Drake - Pink Moon

.....yeah, that's basically it as far as full albums go.

And some Boy Hits Car, which I downloaded from a thread in RYM, and is better than I expected it to be.

Electrocution 04-24-2005 03:10 PM

Red Sparowes
Darkest Hour
The Number Twelve Looks Like You

Smackers 04-24-2005 04:10 PM

Iai 04-24-2005 04:13 PM

Is his self-titled as good as Amethyst Rock Star?

Anyone?

Dust? No?

YDload 04-24-2005 04:58 PM

I'm getting a little more acquainted with Source Tags and Codes. I think it may end up being an enjoyable album for me, just gotta give it more time.
