i dig white ink a lot actually, more than any of the filler on micro

Txus 12-30-2010 07:03 PM

Halcyon might be my favorite Deerhunter album so far...it's fucking awesome in every way.

Matthew Dear - Black City
The Books - The Way Out
Infinite Body - Carve Out the Face of My God
Luke Abbott - Holkam Drones

Solarizing 12-30-2010 10:30 PM

since that black ops commercial came out last mont - I've been listening to a lot of rolling stones lately...

Time 12-31-2010 12:50 PM

Surfer Blood - Astro Coast

this is better than a lot of the similar p4k type stuff constantly coming out

horseypie 01-03-2011 01:04 AM

antony and the johnsons - swanlights

YDload 01-03-2011 01:32 AM

red medicine

why are target and bed for the scraping the best songs ever?! aaaa

Matt? 01-03-2011 10:16 AM

i don't know what you're talking about but i DID see a target commercial that had a black angels song in it the other day

kinda weird but yeah. ive been listening to their newer album a bit. and the national - high violet.

also the flaming lips song on the good luck chuck soundtrack is SICK. that movie had a good soundtrack

infinite body - carve the face out of my god

cbmartinez 01-04-2011 08:43 PM

that album is okay

robertsona 01-04-2011 09:04 PM

i really like it

though it's brief and, you know, one sample i really like the second track. all of it is pretty great though

cbmartinez 01-04-2011 11:09 PM

it's similar to like the mark mcguire, emeralds, oneohtrix stuff, i think i just prefer that

cbmartinez 01-04-2011 11:12 PM

the radio dept.- clinging to a scheme
maximum balloon- maximum balloon
the books- the way out
gorillaz- plastic beach

robertsona 01-05-2011 10:52 AM

is that radio dept. album any good? 'heaven's on fire', imo, is crazy good but i've heard middling things about the actual album from a lot of people. books and gorillaz albums are both great--the lemon of pink might be slightly better than the way out but both are great.

also, are mark mcguire albums good? i really liked the last two emeralds albums.

lately:
deerhunter - halcyon digest (really good and has only been growing. i could listen to 'coronado' on repeat all day.)
clouddead - clouddead
tim hecker - harmony in ultraviolet (reaaaaallly fucking good. i go to this really often.)
drake - thank me later (really addicting idk)

livemusic 01-05-2011 02:07 PM

I recently heard two guys from LA called YOYA.

Very interesting music they call "folktronic". Some really good mash-ups between Radiohead and Gary Jules, Elton John & David Bowie and few others.

Curren$y - Pilot Talk
Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works

"my bud covered by fuzz, but not the police"

i finally checked this out after liking Pilot Talk II for a while. these beats and curren$y's wit make this album for me. really great stuff.

Time 01-06-2011 03:06 PM

j cole - friday night lights

farewell is soo good

Txus 01-06-2011 05:04 PM

curren$y, j cole and mark mcguire all rule

I've been listening to a lot of oOoOO - No Summr4u, Kangding Ray - Stabil, The Black Heart Procession - 2 and Charlotte Gainsbourg - 5:55.

Oh, and Showbiz & A.G.

it's pretty typical swedish stuff, a few great tracks, nice mix of styles. i just have one mark mcguire song from his lp this year, it's good. harmony in ultraviolet is incredible

robertsona 01-07-2011 09:38 AM

i was randomly listening to my ipod late last night and scrolled around artists and found Bjork and was like "oh yeah, her"

started listening to homogenic and vespertine and i swear i had a fucking epiphany ("all is full of love," "hidden place," "an echo, a stain," and "hunter")

so yeah, her

Matt? 01-07-2011 01:32 PM

homogenic is really good. i really like medulla too. those are my two favorites of hers. and obviously the first two albums are pretty good too

horseypie 01-07-2011 06:04 PM

liars - they threw us all in a trench

DBlitz 01-07-2011 11:07 PM
