on cd they sound ultra-studio-ed and are done that way on purpose, to have a more mainstream appeal (in terms of metal of course)

his lows live have a much more kind of pig squeal at the end of them and they're a helluva lot lower live than they ever get on the cd.

i've always been a fan of the guy from whitechapel's voice, just really gravely and gutteral, but i understand he's probably not the best
the new carnifex doesnt sound too bad
