|
i like Dream Theatre - lines in the sand.. which album and songs shld i get?

If you like Lines in the Sand you should get Falling Into Infinity, but I would definatly recommend Scenes From A Memory, Images and Words and A Change of Seasons.

But you notice how much easier it is to play high up right? |
well obviously, but i think it looks better higher up, and also it strains the back and wrists if its too low...maybe
|
Tom Morello has his guitar really high, and he is unbelievebly cool.
|
but not as good as Petrucci :naughty:
|
Not many are as good as or better then Petrucci.
|
I'm wearing my SFAM shirt right now .
Aw what.. I want a DT t-shirt. :upset: |
i love dt, john inspired me to pick up bass, then he later inspired me to pick up a 6string
|
Yeah, we're both pretty cool .
Where is eveyone getting this DT t-shirts. God-dammit I want one!! |

I believe so, well they must do if they covered Damage Inc. with Barney on the Once In a LiveTime DVD |
What the hell's wrong with playing a guitar high up, I'd rather him have it high and play well than have it low and look metal and mess up.
I wouldn't mind it if he wasn't a statue with spiked hair live. Or if he didn't sell out. Or if he wasn't such a wanker. Or if his sig was remotely unique. But hey, I got a list of grievances going, I'm going to make it long as possible.
Tom Morello has his guitar really high, and he is unbelievebly cool.
This is true, but he's cool like that. JP's best feature is his wife. |

I'm gonna get a DT shirt.
|
I'll probably pick one up when I see them soon.
|
I'm going to buy all the DT shirts you can get when I see them in Wolves... :naughty:
|
The words "you" and "bastards" are speeding to my lips.
|
arent you going to see DT then? the words "unlucky" are speeding to mine
|
I'm going to buy all the DT shirts you can get when I see them in Wolves... :naughty:
Heh, I'm hopefully seeing them both nights in London. :p |
I've had 'In The Name Of God' so horribly stuck in my head today it's absolutely crazy.
|

He said on the Bodokan DVD that if he had no chance at being 'cool' because he holds his guitar so high. I don't have a problem with it, it's the music produced that counts. |
but not as good as Petrucci :naughty:
While this is true from a technical point of view, I'd say Mr. Morello is way more unique then John. Can't shred as fast, or maybe doesn't know as much theory or scales, but thats pretty much all John can do. Which is awesome, but Morello is a much more rare and unique guitarist. He also has a 50x better stage presence, not to mention hes older then John to. Arm The Homeless is also the coolest guitar ever. :) |
Morello can shred too... probably not as good as Petrucci, but he's way more musical.
|
Oh yes, he can shred all right. He did like 8 times when I saw them 2 weeks ago, and he was damn good at it. I just think Petruccis technique is a little more perfected. But Tom doesn't show off, which gives him points ++.
|
Tom writes better music which makes it not matter what he can do, but yeah, he can hold his own.
|
Just wondering, has anyone here heard any Circus Maximus, and if so, what did they think?
I think they sound heaps like Dream Theater (Especially their drummer!), and they have a decent singer. They're also more Metal based from what I picked up too (Which isn't always a good thing, but meh).
their awesome and sound very much like Dream Theater |
Tom writes better music which makes it not matter what he can do, but yeah, he can hold his own.
I think Dream Theater have much more interesting and varied music than Rage/Audioslave, though they have some awsome songs I think DT are much better song writers. |
