When were they recorded?
|
About The Final Cut.... it has started to grow on me. It creates such a great atmosphere. There is also that great sax on "The Gunner's Dream"
But the ending of "When the Tigers Broke free" annoys me. That last line is really really forced. |

It's grown on me as well, I must admit. |

Wasn't 'when the tigers broke free' actually on The Wall soundtrack? Not The Final Cut. Actually, it could be/is probably on both albums, but it was originally on The Wall soundtrack. |

Not The Final Cut. Actually, it could be/is probably on both albums, but it was originally on The Wall soundtrack.
It was made for the Wall, but they only used it on the movie. They put it on the re-issue of The Final Cut aswell. |
Yeah, that's exactly what I thought. My dad is really into the Final Cut. He said in college, he probably listened to it on the order of around 250 times. He said that it's his favorite...meh.
I've not heard too many good things about it. Is it more orchestral and less of the classic Pink Floyd sound? That seems to be what I hear a lot.. |

I like the last line "And thats how the high command TOOK MY DADDY FROM ME" :D I kinda like the Final Cut, as other people already said its more of a Roger Waters solo album then a Floyd album. Best songs IMO Post War Dream Your Possible pasts Not Now John When the Tigers Broke Free |
I like the last line "And thats how the high command TOOK MY DADDY FROM ME" :D
I mean it sounds more like "And thats how the high command took my daddy....(oh shi I forgot to add this line in, better throw it in the last few seconds....)............from me" <_< >_> |

During what gig does PF uses the tux suits? In other words, when do they use this outfits? And can anyone explain what Water's wearing?
|
I would have to say wish you were here
|
can someone please explain the whole
DARK SIDE OF THE MOON WIZARD OF OZ thing to me?? thanks.. |
Basically, the songs line up somewhat with the events in the movie. To try it yourself, just get yourself the 25th Anniversary DVD edition of the Wizard Of Oz, and preferably the Anniversary edition of DSOTM as well.
When the MGM Lion roars for the third time, press play. It isn't groundbreaking, but there are some good moments. You should like it. |
Apparently (I havn't bothered to try it), if you start the album on the thrid roar of the MGM Lion, things will happen in the movie that corrolate with what the lyrics are saying.
EDIT: Beaten :upset: |
awesome napoleon.

Leave (or talk about Floyd instead of quoting really bad movies) |

You quoted yourself  But, I agree about The Gunners Dream. That sax solo is unbelievable, especially the lead in to it. |
Have any of you guys heard about the live album called Prism?
I donwloaded a Complete PF Discography off of DC++, and it was on it. The quality isn't all that great, but the awesome playlist makes up for it. I'll post it if you guys want. |
It sounds like its probably a bootleg. Pink Floyd wouldn't release a poor quality live album.
|
It's uploading to you send it right now (I'm Purple Floyd).

But it still matched up. My favorite part is when it says "Don't give me that do goody good bull shit" when the good fairy came. |

A lot of those tracks were suppose to be on the Wall, but Gilmour put his foot down. You know those new songs for brodway sound an awful lot like the Final Cut, I think Waters did a great job on the Wall, but thank god Gilmour was there to put his foot down on some of his worse ideas. |
