Haha, that should be bumped.

Livewired made a thread on Booker T. and the MG's
I haven't really made any threads, just like 5 in the sports forum that all got like 3 replies. |
Yeah, I did.
EDIT-I also made a few spam threads(not as many as RNR) those were in the days when I tried to get banned |
I would make some threads, but they'd get ignored and drowned out in R&M. Maybe I'll make a thread in Other Music.
|
Ok, I'm looking for another Neil album, similiar to "Harvest" and "On The Beach". In my experience he sounds different on some records.
awaits for entrance from Badmoon
Whenever a dirty hobo sings a Grateful Dead song under a hazy night sky, a young white suburbian discovers Jimmy Cliff and changes his life, or an internet forum poster brings up Gris-gris or Convict Pool, the Badmoon watches, listens and smiles.
I just downloaded Jimmy Cliff - The Harder They Come. I'm going to listen to it pretty quick.
Nice :thumb: That album is definitely one of my favorites. Too many highlights on that album to pick a definite favorite, but I'm leaning towards "Sitting In Limbo"; it's a close call. For my Communications 11 class, we're doing a horror unit, so we might get to watch Se7en and Army Of Darkness  np: Bob Seger - Old Time Rock N' Roll |
Badmoon, could you recomend me some Grateful Dead albums besides 'Blues for Allah' and 'American Beauty'?
|
I'm not Badmon, but definetly get Workingmans Dead and Wake Of The Flood
|
I'm also not Badmoon, but I second Workingman's Dead.

What's some good Phish? I have Lawn Boy (someone sent it out a little while back), but nothing else.
Today's my birthday. I'm stoked. And tomorrow I'm going to see Paul McCartney! /Has been whoring that in all threads. |
So here is where I bitch about the real life in an internet forum:
There is a position in our school where there is a Representative to the Board of Education, and since the position has never gon contested, I decided to run. The my friend Steph and another girl who is a Junior ran. Steph and I decided to run together (something no one had ever done before) and all was fine. We had to make speeches in front of the Senior class, and then yesterday in front of the entire school. This was also all well and good until two seniors that have always been friends of mine decided to let us know they were running. First we made a speech, and then they copied the same one off of us. So they stole our idea to run together, didn't tell us they were running and stole our speech. It is also important to note that they are the co-captains of the soccer team and serious jocks. One of the girls had a mother on the BOE, a father who is a prominant doctor and a brother in Yale. Needless to say, the hippie and her hick friend didn't stand much of a chance and lost to the Jocks. I'm surer this will look wonderful on their college applications God, I hate jocks. Of course who would I be if I never lost a large-scale popularity contest? EDIT:Happy Birthday, Deus! Are you old enough to see R-Rated movies, or are you old enough to vote? McCartney will be amazing, if not life-changing. Have fun, and send us the set list if you feel like it :D |

I just turned 18, so I can vote now. I'll probably put the set list up. I can't wait for the show! |

/awaits for entrance from Badmoon  This thread made me laugh: http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=363445
Gullah Gullah Island... man I used to watch that show so much. The only episode I remember is the one where there was a storm... you know, now that I think about it, that show was pretty damn racist in some ways. But hey, I live in the South, so I'm used to it. /stereotype So, I think I got my friend hooked on classic rock today. I let him listen to some Zeppelin at school, and I lent him my Zeppelin/Pink Floyd CDs :) I'm such a nice person :p Oh, and here's a question that's been kind of bugging me for quite sometime...how did vinyls work? I understand the basic concept, like the needle going over the groove and like registering bumps or something... but how could the nedle measure such small variations in the texture of the vinyl and how did it make music that way? |
That made me laugh
That's me for 3 of those :x |

I just threw on my dad's vinyl copy of The White Album and was amazed for the same reason. It's very cool how they work. |

I can see why, usually we can be a bit spam-happy You could start out by saying what bands/music you like :thumb: |

I listen to a wide variety of music, but some bands relevant to this thread that I'm into include Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Pink Floyd, and Neil Young. Obviously I'm not the most knowledgeable on this genre, but I'm looking to learn more. |

You'll probably fit in well then, especially since you don't type like an idiot  |

Hope you like it here. np: Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo For me, Wake of the Flood is almost equal with Workingman's Dead. So hard to choose. /random My new desktop: http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/5594/desktop4yu.jpg So easy on the eyes. |

So hard to choose.
The best part is that you don't have to choose I just realized why I don't like Led Zeppelin so much anymore: It's not so much that I don't like them as much as I used to, its just that I have heard all of their albums and I am sick of them |
The only Led Zeppelin album I've listened to in its entirety is Led Zeppelin IV as I have it on vinyl somewhere but my friend has most, if not all, of their albums on vinyl and we occasionally throw one on when we're chilling.
|
Led Zeppelin II is my favorite by far.
Such a good album. I finally got some more Quicksilver. I just got Shady Grove, Just For Love and Happy Trails. I already have the s/t. Also got some more ELP. s/t, Tarkus and Trilogy. |
So is anyone here interested in the environment, human/animal rights?
|
I like Zeppelin I and Houses of the Holy the most out of their studio albums, but I prefer The Soundtrack To The Song Remains The Same more than all their albums put together. It's gotten to the point now though, that I only listen to a couple Zeppelin albums a month, although I have the cassette of TSRTS and I always listen to it in my car...usually when I'm baked. I wouldn't say I'm bored/sick of Zeppelin, I just listen to them in moderation these days.
edit - and I'm for saving/helping the environment...I think most humans in North America can stand up for themselves, they can fight for their own rights. The poor environment can't even fight back as we destroy it...except for when the occasional tree falls and kills a person. |

I once read somewhere that Coca Cola employees in South America (?) were killed for joining unions. Edit: Link, for those who are interested. |
