I downloaded "Day of the Eagle" by Robin Trower. It was pretty rockin, but his voice was pretty generic. Good though
He wasn't singing, it was actually his bassist, James Dewar. I think the voice fits though.

Other songs you might want to check out are "Bridge of Sighs" and "Too Rolling Stoned" to get you started.

EDIT: Actually if anybody wants the entire album (Bridge of Sighs) I can send it to them. It's awesome, some of the greatest guitar playing and riffs I've heard.

Illmatic 06-16-2005 08:17 PM
if you can illmatic, post too rolling stoned and bridge of sighs.
Come again?

Jacaranda 06-16-2005 08:30 PM

Alright so I just got Rush - 2112 and the song "2112" is like 20 minutes long but it has different parts or what not and the first 2 are kinda slow so I was wondering does any one know of a program that can "split" songs? But so far this is very good.

White_heat 06-16-2005 08:43 PM

Yeah 2112 is a great album. You could download audacity, then import the song into it, then select the parts you want to separate, and put them into new proyects, simply by cut and paste, there is probably and easier way.

Any ways back to 2112, I love this album, great mix between prog rock and hard rock, and one of the first albums to do mix the two, it is a very influential album. Also very original and diverse (something not seen much in a lot of prog rock).

Jacaranda 06-16-2005 08:54 PM

I'm getting really into Prog Rock like them and Yes I've bought 2 Yes CD's in the 2 days. Where before I only had a live one.
I still don't understand how Geddy Lee gets singing so high I'll have to rent the Rush in Rio(?) DVD

White_heat 06-16-2005 08:57 PM

Rush in Rio is preety recent, so i think his voice will be less high, but ive never heard it. Try Exit Stage Left, but thats only on CD
Anyone listen to Joni Mitchell?
No, she's very, very boring, if you ask me.

Is YYZ on that album? Cause i think it has one of the best bass riffs that Geddy has ever written on that song.

Glitterati 06-16-2005 11:14 PM

Hey, did anyone else hear Neil Young's dad died?

BassMasterMike88 06-16-2005 11:16 PM
Hey, did anyone else hear Neil Young's dad died?
Yes i did, thats to bad because Neil Young is already a depressed person, i don't think he needs anything like this to happen to him. :upset:

nicovski 06-16-2005 11:18 PM
Hey, did anyone else hear Neil Young's dad died?
Bye, we've had our problems, but we've gotten through them. You will be missed sir :(
Is that a Reservoir Dogs avatar?
Yes, I cut it down myself

What is funny about that is that the man in the back right is wearing a similar suit to Mr. White (middle) and Mr. Brown (left). However, throughout that movie, that guy (Nice Guy Eddie Cabbott) doesn't wear one of those, nor does he in the original publicity shot that that was copied off of. :)

You like that movie?

Are you joking? Why the hell are you leaving? Stay!!!!

Oh well, I suppose if you are serious about leaving then you must have a good reason. Take care! :smoke:

magicbus 06-17-2005 12:41 PM
You like that movie?
Of course man, that movie rules. My second favorite Tarantino movie, after Pulp Fiction. Both movies have good soundtracks too.

Are we still doing the cover thing? Is any thread still doing the cover thing? This would be a good weekend for me to record, or just jam for that matter. Let's do it!

Badmoon 06-17-2005 12:49 PM

Reservoir Dogs = Pulp Fiction, if not Reservoir Dogs > Pulp Fiction (IMO)

I doubt we are doing the cover thing.

magicbus 06-17-2005 01:10 PM

Alright well even if we aren't doing it, I'll still jam if you guys want to later or something.

lunch998 06-17-2005 02:18 PM

I wish I could record.

ATM 06-17-2005 02:48 PM

Can I add in a 45 minute solo?
