Did everyone get There and Back Again?

And yes, Robert Randolph > Santana.

Walrus Gumboot 10-06-2005 07:21 AM
doesn't he pretty much exclusively play piano now at live shows?
Yep. And every once in an while he stops playing (with the backing going), gets up, walks to the middle of the stage and plays a harmonica solo so hard that he is almost on his knees, and then he sits down again

magicbus 10-06-2005 10:19 AM
schyma, did you know journey's guitarist was in santanas band? i have a video of them. rumor has it that he got kicked out because he consistently showed santana up.
That's Neal Schon. I guess he was playing with Santana when he was like 16 or something.

PinkFreud 10-06-2005 10:36 AM

Yeah right.

Everyone secretly loves Journey wheter you deny it or not, you know, deep down inside, you have a fascination with them.

temporary 10-06-2005 01:32 PM
I like Journey, they're fun to listen to.
Yeah, that pretty much sums them up. Not really a ton of talent (although Perry is a great vocalist) but they wrote plenty of catchy tunes in their day.

Leper 10-06-2005 01:32 PM

It's their cool album covers that hypnotize everyone.

/sarcasm.

Broken Arrow 10-06-2005 02:00 PM

Isn't Santana's orginal keyboardist/singer in Journey too?

Classic rock lover 10-06-2005 02:21 PM

Classic rock
And yeah, classic rock is becoming extremely popular among teenagers.
I'm 14 years old and i'm into lot's of classic rock, like Led Zepplin,Thin Lizzy,
Deep Purple etc.
I'm into lots of music from the 60's-late 70's period, reggae, metal, blues, rock,
country etc. I don't really like that much modern stuff to be honest and i'm music mad.

Broken Arrow 10-06-2005 02:28 PM

Hahaha...........what a n00b.

/wishes he was music mad

Classic rock is great, but get into new music or else you'll become one of those wankers that makes threads about how new music all sucks and people flame you and give you names of good modern bands, but you never get their respect back.

Jacaranda 10-06-2005 02:33 PM

Welcome none the less.

Ugh, for English again I have to find 5 songs and write an analysis for them, they're supposed to be about alienation, isolation or lonleyness.

Broken Arrow 10-06-2005 02:34 PM

Get 5 songs off the Wall.

Woodstock 10-06-2005 02:37 PM

Yer Blues by The Beatles can be one.

Jacaranda 10-06-2005 02:37 PM
Get 5 songs off the Wall.
I would but I'm not that big of Pink Floyd buff... or at least The Wall and DSOTM era Floyd.

I've been on a Zombies binge, again, for like the 309183902 time.

Broken Arrow 10-06-2005 02:41 PM

Then do The Loner by Neil Young it about lonleyness.

How can you be "music mad" and then say you don't like modern music?

actually, theyve got quite a lot of talent. neal schon is an excellent guitarist. steve perry's got a great voice, and steve smith is an unbelievable drummer. its just one of those things where the music they produce is mostly crap.

John Lennon- Isolation :p

I recommended this last time you asked for a song too. My guess is that it's about isolation :p

If you don't have I can upload it.

Any body like Randy Rhoads,I'm 12 and have been listening to Ozzy since I was in the 2nd grade.
Any body like Randy Rhoads,I'm 12 and have been listening to Ozzy since I was in the 2nd grade.
He's a good guitarist, shame he died early. We refrain from talking about Ozzy in this thread, though.

Broken Arrow 10-06-2005 04:38 PM

I'm not really an Ozzy solo fan. Love Sabbath though.

I'm getting into Black Sabbath lately. I like their really slow stuff.

Illmatic 10-06-2005 05:05 PM

Randy Rhoads was a talented guitarist, but he never seemed all that special to me.

Broken Arrow 10-06-2005 05:05 PM

Thats the best. I absolutely love there first 3 albums.

ATM 10-06-2005 05:05 PM

Black Sabbath = amazing
Jeff Buckley = amazing

/not much to add

I've discovered Costco has awesome cd prices. Awful selection, but awesome prices. They had a 5 cd Simon and Garfunkel box set for 27 bucks. I might get it.

Broken Arrow 10-06-2005 05:37 PM

I put DSTOM and WYWH each for $9.99 CDN and Santana first 3 albums for $21 CDN.

robo2448 10-06-2005 05:39 PM
I put DSTOM and WYWH each for $9.99 CDN and Santana first 3 albums for $21 CDN.
I paid 20 bucks each for DSOTM and WYWH :upset:

Costco's selection is really terrible though. I've never even seen DSOTM or WYWH there, which are both pretty common albums.

thickasabrick 10-06-2005 05:39 PM

That's a pretty good deal.

Get this....today, we were talking about technology, and our teacher asked us if we knew what vinyl records were. How ignorant is that?
