Broken Arrow 10-05-2005 06:12 PM

I just watched the DVD Eric Clapton Sessions for Robert J. It's acctually really good. And Steve Gadd and Billy Preston are in it.

jpj 10-05-2005 06:35 PM

I'm downloading Vol. 6 right now.

NP: Phil Lesh & Friends-Dark Star, this is better than the version on Live/Dead (yea, I said it)

Anyone want me to upload this album it's quite good, especially the bonus disc.

Currently I've got 1 day, 3 hours remaining on my current Bitttorrent for LAP :/
I've got 19 hours to go on my bittorrent, trying to download a Gong album but there isn't enough seeders. :(

Walrus Gumboot 10-05-2005 07:06 PM

I just scored
Jeff Buckly- Grace
Jimi Hendrix - Live at Woodstock
Concert for George

...at my loacl private school. I probably would have found more, but I would have had to tell a private school kid to get up out the chair. Private school kids are a little scary

PinkFreud 10-05-2005 07:08 PM

god i love jeff buckley. unhealthily.

Could you upload Concert For George?

That would be awesome.

JonG 10-05-2005 07:10 PM

Grace is amazing.

Ulysses 10-05-2005 07:15 PM

Grace his a great album, his voice is unparalleled. Captures you in a trance everytime you listen to it.

Could someone tell me why whenever I select all my contacts to send something to it says that some of the addresses were not recognized?

EDIT: Nevermind.

jpj 10-05-2005 07:36 PM

JonG 10-05-2005 07:37 PM

Against Miik! 10-05-2005 08:31 PM

So how good a song is Desolation Row by Bob Dylan. I tried playing it and my arm got reallllllly tired.

PinkFreud 10-05-2005 08:33 PM

an amazing song.

lily, rosemary, and the jack of hearts is my favorite though.

Illmatic 10-05-2005 08:33 PM

It's good, but not THAT good. Far from the best on Highway 61.

PinkFreud 10-05-2005 08:34 PM

ah, i think its got the best lyrics.

Illmatic 10-05-2005 08:37 PM

Doesn't make it the best song, though.

robo2448 10-05-2005 08:38 PM
It's good, but not THAT good. Far from the best on Highway 61.
Highway 61 is amazing. Desolation Row has amazing lyrics. I think it's among Dylan's best songs ever. But so are Like A Rolling Stone, Queen Jane Approximately, It Takes A Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry...

Amazing album. I'd say the title track is actually the weakest song but I really like that too.

Illmatic 10-05-2005 08:40 PM

Off of Highway 61, I'll take Like A Rolling Stone, Queen Jane, It Takes a Lot to Laugh, and Ballad of a Thin Man over Desolation Row easily.

Against Miik! 10-05-2005 08:43 PM

Like A Rolling Stone is very overrated in my book. Probably because I prefer Dylan without a band behind him, although he has written so many great songs there are many exceptions, like Positively 4th Street.

Illmatic 10-05-2005 08:46 PM

I think Like a Rolling Stone is a perfect song, which only proves your point, I guess :p

I just love how everything falls into place on it.

robo2448 10-05-2005 08:47 PM
Off of Highway 61, I'll take Like A Rolling Stone, Queen Jane, It Takes a Lot to Laugh, and Ballad of a Thin Man over Desolation Row easily.
Those are all my favorites, including Desolation Row. I honestly believe that all of those songs are perfect and I could never pick a favorite from those.

Edit- I agree with Miik that Positively Fourth Street is amazing, and I agree with you that Like A Rolling Stone is perfect. Positively Fourth Street has even more critical lyrics but it's shorter.

magicbus 10-05-2005 08:47 PM

I love "Like A Rolling Stone". It might be my favorite song with a backing band.

Krabsworth 10-05-2005 08:59 PM

Is Dylan a decent guitar player these days? He's been playing for at least 40 years now.

robo2448 10-05-2005 09:01 PM
Is Dylan a decent guitar player these days? He's been playing for at least 40 years now.
He has bad arthritis and apparently at some shows he doesn't even play guitar at all. He was never really talented at guitar, but was great at finding simple chords to fit his music. That makes me respect him as a guitarist.

PinkFreud 10-05-2005 09:01 PM

he was always decent. the fingerpicking on "dont think twice, its alright." is pretty difficult.

robo2448 10-05-2005 09:03 PM
he was always decent. the fingerpicking on "dont think twice, its alright." is pretty difficult.
He does do a little nice fingerpicking once in a while, like that song.

PinkFreud 10-05-2005 09:05 PM

yeah, great song too. haha.

Illmatic 10-05-2005 09:08 PM

doesn't he pretty much exclusively play piano now at live shows?

robo2448 10-05-2005 09:09 PM
doesn't he pretty much exclusively play piano now at live shows?
That's what I've heard.

thickasabrick 10-05-2005 09:19 PM
So how good a song is Desolation Row by Bob Dylan. I tried playing it and my arm got reallllllly tired.
Heh heh....yeah. I've only played and sang it all the way through like five times. I've probably played the first two verses about fifteen times though.

I don't like listening to the studio version of Queen Jane Approximately, Dylan and the Dead is a hundred times better. edit- well, I still like listening to it, and I do probably three times a day, but I prefer Dylan and the Dead's version.

I prefer Dylan solo, but when he's playing with a band it doesn't ruin the songs.

And I prefer the fingerpicking in Boots of Spanish Leather to Don't Think Twice, It's Alright.

yeoldetattoosupply 10-05-2005 11:12 PM

I love The Doors....

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 10-05-2005 11:59 PM

This Bonaroo "Super Jam" session is fantastic! It even has Robert Randolph on steel. :D

Seeing Robert Randolph and Santana playing "Boom Boom" was AWSOME.

After seeing the entire show I'll have to say:

Robert Randolph > Santana

i dont care! im not ashamed. its a total heterosexual man crush.

schyma, did you know journey's guitarist was in santanas band? i have a video of them. rumor has it that he got kicked out because he consistently showed santana up.

i love the college atmosphere. i just smoked with a bunch of people because they wanted me to. that would never happen at home. at home we have to like, plan it out. here, its so spontaneous.
