Motleyguy 04-14-2006 03:02 PM

man, I had a pretty kick *** night last night. I was all chilling at home, and my buddy comes on msn and is like "Dude! wanna go see Arch Enemy?" so of course, I went to the ticketmaster, bought a ticket, and went and saw Arch Enemy. The opening band, Hate Eternal (or something like that) absolutely sucked, complete garbage, it was all noise. But then God Forbid came on, and made me a happy camper once more, with their complete and total rocking awesomeness. Then Chimaira played, they were alright, but I'm not too into them. And finally, Arch Enemy hit the stage. God damn, they rock so hard, the entire building went nuts, and of course, Angela Gossow is like the hottest chick ever. Man hot swedish death metal chicks rock!

We_Love_Lime 04-14-2006 03:08 PM

Sounds Fun Motley.

I think I MIGHT have something to top that.

I went cannoing with two of my other friends. The lake smelt real bad. My friend falls in the garbage **** infested lake trying to enter the boat, so he changes cloths. The water was absolutely discusting. So finally we come off. We almost go OVER a 50 feet some dam, with no water at the bottom. I wasn't steering, I was sitting my butt in the middle of the canoe where all the water seeped in. My boxers were wet.

Eventually the water overpowered the boat, and we sank. Sitting in a mud infested lake that smells like sewage is rather humurous. I don't see why we just didn't empty the boat and paddle back home again, but instead we carried the bloody thing a quarter of a mile or so back. Which wasn't bad, but..

Than I got home, and picked up my Philidelphia Expiriment CD. Than I was really mad because Itunes wouldn't recognize it, I was uber pissed that there was a flaw in the Cd. So I opened up the CD Drive, and it wasn't in there. I thought it evaporated.

I left it in my backpack.

Corkofski 04-14-2006 03:08 PM

god forbid - REAL black metal

i spent the night on a cliff, freezing my *** off

rockindrummer 04-14-2006 03:08 PM

I had a pretty sweet night last night too. I went out to this bar pub restaurant place to see my drum teachers band. The band that opened for them was really cool kind of indieish music, they were called hey ocean if any vancouverite has heard of them before i'd suggest checking them out. Then my drum teachers band came on after that and they played for a solid hour and a bit. They were really tight aswell, overall it was a night of sweet music.

Motleyguy 04-14-2006 03:14 PM

a couple of my friends went to that show last night, to see Hey Ocean. Who's your drum teacher's band?

rockindrummer 04-14-2006 03:21 PM

Lotus Child. Have you heard of them before?

Talos 04-14-2006 03:24 PM

Lol you will enjoy it.

But I think I have Traditional approach to second line rhthms, as apposed to moddern.

**** I suck at spelling.
you mean they make it in a book form?? mine is a dvd which is funnnnn to watch (I can't enough of this guy; he's so bloody awesome despite the simple sticking patterns he's playing, and he's lots of fun to watch!), but I kinda wish there was a book to go along with it so I could better figure out all the stuff he's doing, accents and all..

ok, running out!

fishbulb 04-14-2006 05:05 PM
Anyone wanna send me some awesome Dream Theater songs over MSN? I cant find anything by them "in the shops" *cough* lol.

My addy is st-anger@hotmail.co.uk or dummer-101@hotmail.com. Either are good, cheers.
Why don't you just torrent it.

Win A Rabbit 04-14-2006 05:27 PM

milkmit, i have the book, and it's a great book. i have alot of trouble staying focused while playing through some of the stuff, since i'll just start practicing a pattern, and then realize 5 minutes later that i've just been doing improv on the same pattern.

other than that, it's a great book. i haven't seen the dvd, so i can't compare, but i prefer going through books to watching a dvd.

Win A Rabbit 04-14-2006 05:47 PM

so last night my friend told me that him and my other friends were going to come over today to try getting the band back together. from what i know, the one who told me this wasn't drinking. i remember the conversation fairly clearly, and i remember telling him to just come over tomorrow or call me first or whatever. but i haven't heard from him yet today. i don't want to call him and ask "were you serious about yesterday, or just drunk?", so i decided i'm again just going to wait for him/them to contact me about it.

Berk 04-14-2006 05:47 PM

Are Kids Like Us ska??

SkaRabbit 04-14-2006 05:51 PM

I have been skanking for 5 years and it just gets better. Makes me feel good about the world..

Ska to me represents colour in life. It expresses to me how creative the world can be and reminds me a am a person not a machine. It is a pure high for me.

Realy hard to express what music means to you isn't it..

Sounds awesome, but Angela Gossow's not Swedish, she's from Germany. The rest of Arch Enemy are from Sweden, though.

By the way I'm the best because I'm from the state with the best ska. Was ska invented in Jersey?

SkaRabbit 04-14-2006 05:59 PM

I am happy for you. Ska has a hidden power doesn't it!
