I won't listen to country.

Reverend Horton Heat is about as close to country as I'll get.

I actually AILD. I've seen them live twice.
I As I Lay Dying too!

(HA! I FINALLY GOT YOU!)

cbmartinez 08-11-2006 11:55 PM

Damn you Brian!

cbmartinez 08-11-2006 11:56 PM

My girlfriend loves country. I think most of it is absolutely unbearable but I dig Phil Vassar and The Rascall Flats.

Rascal Flatts \m/\m/

DJ Ducksauce 08-11-2006 11:58 PM

I got tired of RF after hearing that song everytime I went to a girl's myspace.

My mom likes to listen to country (Although when I was listening to The Rip by Wilhelm she said "Whoa, that was cool" and she likes Protest The Hero.) in the car.

I don't understand why everyone hates it. It's not all that bad. It's usually not good, but it aint bad.

I like how everyone on myspace likes to say "I LYK MUSIC I LISTEN TO EVERYTHING except country"

DJ Ducksauce 08-11-2006 11:59 PM

Country isn't bad, but the music is kinda cheesy, and the lyrics are bland.

The lyrics can be fun though. Especially drinking songs.

Radio country gets annoying though.

Jon: I've done that before.

cbmartinez 08-11-2006 11:59 PM
Rascal Flatts \m/\m/
Yeah, they're good, once you get by the stupid southern accent, they've got alot of pop in them so it's a little more bearable.

Word, especially they most likely don't listen to everything anyways.

Anyone typing like that probably listens to no more than 10 or 12 bands, all of which can be found on the radio.

I just can't get into any country. It's not terrible, but not really my thing.

Some rockabilly/psychobilly stuff is real close to country though, and I like a lot of that.

You can say that about any kind of music if you're not that into it.

DJ Ducksauce 08-12-2006 12:01 AM

I was watching this Wille Nelson thingy on PBS, and I couldn't stop watching.

Joel: Yeah, but the music is pretty cheesy amrite?

Oh, and the big issue I have with country is the stupid accents.

I dig acoustic folk. Folk is like Country lite.

All lyrics are cheesy, I don't care whether you like the band or not.

Justin, watch Psyche instead.

PDWAB 08-12-2006 12:04 AM

SO HAY GUYS last week I was coaching at a music camp and I was teaching a Beginning Guitar class and on the last day I showed them power chords, and then we made a simple four-chord riff, and then I said, "Ok, now we're going to write an EMO SONG!" and we went around the circle and everyone came up with their own verse! It was a lot of fun, with great lyrics like "I hate my parents", "I pluck the wings off of butterflies", and "Arrrgrgrhrhrhg"!

Anime I'm guessing.

Joel: Don't say you plucked the wings of a butterfly. I might go cry and make a poem in memory of the butterfly. :(

I've never really listened to folk. Folk-punk, but not folk.

Yeah, it's a great phenomenon. All lyrics sound stupid if you say them sarcastically enough.

Same thing if you try to explain the plot of a book to someone. It never sounds good >_<

Mute Print 08-12-2006 12:07 AM

Joel, you should have taught the kids what emo really is, so we wouldn't have even more MTV-educated retards.

Hmm, sounds good. I hardly watch NBC though. I don't watch much TV besides lots of re runs of old shows.

Besides, the kids would fall asleep.

Haha yeah in the back of my mind I was thinking "Oh the PP forum is going to hate me for this!" But I wouldn't have been able to re-educate them in just 40 minutes I don't think, especially since I was supposed to be teaching guitar.

Mute Print 08-12-2006 12:09 AM
...But that wouldn't be funny...at all...

Nah, it would be a quick lesson. Not funny, but one of the kids might actually believe it.

"Emo = emotional hardcore."

/plays Saetia at full volume.

PDWAB 08-12-2006 12:11 AM

Well also I haven't really listened to anything from the Punk/Hardcore/Pop-Punk/Emo/Whatever scene in about a year so I dunno if I'm even qualified.
