Ryanthedrummer and BLS_Infernus2.0, cut the spam. Minor warning to you too, King Jay

What's this about Metallica going to South Africa? Where'd you hear that? I don't believe it. Why would they do a three day flight like that? And why would Metallica co-headline with someone??? (well...they opened for the Stones)

Everyone check out my version of Fade to Black with the help of Taste_My_Scythe in the R&M competition thread. Tell me what you guys think!

Thread like this are generally spam threads to begin with so why is there a problem?

1 Because it's crap!
2 Joe and I are sick of it.
3 Nobody else likes it.
4 It's gonna get you banned if you keep it up.

So knock it off.

BLS_Infernus 01-13-2006 10:33 PM

2 post about something different isn't spamming...5+ is spamming.

I'm just wonder wtf Metallica is doing head-lining with those bands...it seems so odd

Sph 01-13-2006 10:40 PM

Is there really much to talk about anyway?

Joe 01-13-2006 10:41 PM

Yes and you have four. Would you like to keep pushing it?
Thread like this are generally spam threads to begin with so why is there a problem?
Apparently if it's still around there's something going on in here. How many other threads have this many posts? Do you have any clue why we've been through three community threads? Do you know why this thread still exists?
http://www.encycmet.com/news/2006-01-12.shtml
Metallica isn't coheadlining this, are they? If they're coheadlining it someone's got some issues. Metallica is easily the biggest band on that list.

BLS_Infernus 01-13-2006 10:45 PM

yeah they are the biggest band on earth but the opened for the Stone's so co-head-lining that wouldn't be much different.

Joe 01-13-2006 10:49 PM

The Stones are just as big as Metallica; however, it was a Stones tour that Metallica wanted to join in on for 2 shows so they'd open. Anyways, the bands playing with Metallica are so much smaller than Metallica there's no way Metallica should do anything but headline these shows.

BLS_Infernus 01-13-2006 10:52 PM

I see your point but I kind of think the Stones are a bit smaller then Metallica but I guess that's what they had to do sense they join someone else tour.

If you saw the video on metallica.com you can see how boring the Stones crowd is and how bored Metallica got with them. I also spoted a Krank Krankenstein and Revolution right next James's rack setup

Completely agreed.

King Jay: if there isn't anything to talk about you can leave. Leave me in peace that is.

I'm willing to bet Metallica Headlines these shows. No way on earth is Simple plan gonna do anything special. And as much as I like seether...it's just not happening

Except stand there and sing about how much God hates the lead singer.

Agreed, if anyone in here thinks there is nothing to talk about that's ok with me I just don't want to be bothered by you.

What'd you think of my Fade to Black?

Oh yea that was weird. It was probably the toughest time Metallica ever had with a crowd. I got a bunch of videos from my friend (I posted about this a few pages back) and I was looking at their set up and the entire back of the stage is cabs, its enourmous.

edit: 1,900th post in this thread.

a lot of there stuff is just for show but when you see a Mesa Triaxis with Strategies and a Roland JC-120 and a Diezel VH4S and a Herbert etc. that's the real thing.

http://www.montyjay.com this is a great Metallica information website for guitars and amps used during recording. It even has settings for somethings and if you go under Kirk's amps there is a link you can click for his wah and there you can email the site runner for being able to buy the Rack Mount Wah unit. sometimes the site is down so you may have to wait a few days. The guy (I'm guess) doesn't pay for his service monthly like he should. He current;y only has Kirk and James's setups

Blank 01-14-2006 12:30 AM

I have a disc with a vid of Jason doing a bass solo and halfway through Kirk comes out and echoes all the bass parts on guitar, and he was using his effects pedal like a champ :chug:
It's so awesome.

I haven't seen this video...thought it was interesting and different (Unnamed Feeling) here it is if you haven't seen it:

True. But Mick Jagger didn't make out with Keith Richards like Kirk and Lars did.

Haha, a bit pointless but photoshop is great.
Metallica is a metal band, if you check the other bands on the set list aren't near Metal, but they have more air on Mtv than Metallica, that could be a reason of why Metallica isn't headlining.

It was in Hit Parader. Regardless, it's pathetic. In my opinion, they were great, lost a crucial member of the band, and along with his death, the band also died. They had so much talent, they could have gone so far with it...but instead, they wanted to be radio oriented and not even try. To correct you, Metallica was a Metal Band.

They still play the older songs live with almost the same intensity as old Burton shows, the MIAWTW tour was a prove that metal is still in their blood.

Also Burton died before AJFA was recorded, for many people that was the heaviest and even the best album that Metallica ever recorded, but after that they changed into more hard rock.

BLS_Infernus 01-14-2006 01:54 AM

what is wrong with changing styles when you still keep your fan base...they didn't what to sound the same like everyother band does so they evolved and made thereselves more versatile as a band

heavy metal kid 01-14-2006 01:56 AM
what is wrong with changing styles when you still keep your fan base...they didn't what to sound the same like everyother band does so they evolved and made thereselves more versatile as a band
no, there is nothing wrong with changing styles, in fact it is one of the things i like metallica more than many bands.

He just said that Metallica was Metal and correctly said that they dropped some talent, wich is true, just compare Until Sleep's solo with Creeping Death's.

Then again that is better than having only a monotone band, besides they alternative era is great.

BLS_Infernus 01-14-2006 01:59 AM

they have kept Metal apart of them with every change they have made though...they just add a few new things but the metal was always there

MetallifuX 01-14-2006 01:59 AM

When simple plan came to perth everyone threw bottles at them, hahahah they are soo sh'it.......

by the way what is spamming????
it may sound like a stupid question but im new on this

BLS_Infernus 01-14-2006 02:14 AM

spamming is going off topic and talking about nothing to do with the main subject of a thread

Dude I just saw part of Icon on youtube.com...that **** was smaze (what I saw) can you buy that on DVD or something because I've never seen it before...though I heard that pop punk girl (Avril is it) covered Fuel (saw it on VH1's 40 Least Metal Moments)
