Paul McCartney live is brilliant. I saw him in 02....didn't think he'd live up to his former self, being 60 and all, but he did. Has anyone here seen the All Starrs! I did in 01 (with Greg Lake and Sheila E).

robo2448 06-14-2005 09:46 AM

I missed it, but instead of watching it, last night I was on xsao listening to Back in the US by McCartney, and All Things Must Pass by Harrison, I decided I'm going to buy a cd today, and I'm going to get one of those or my own copy of Magical Mystery Tour (I only have that burned).

MMT is awesome. I just listened to it this morning.

robo2448 06-14-2005 09:58 AM

Yea I love it, but I only have a burnt copy and I like to have actual cd's. I don't know if I want that or All Things Must Pass, or Back in US.

I hate tough decisions like this. All I know is that I'm going to give myself some reward for being halfway done with finals  .

jpj 06-14-2005 10:23 AM

MMT is definitely my favorite Beatles album, and All Things Must Pass is awesome. I haven't heard Back in the U.S., but I'm sure it's great.

That McCartney concert last night was really good.

Edit: Does anyone know how to find tour dates for Robert Randolph?

I didn't know this was Anti-war. Then again, I never knew much about it or many of the lyrics.

Illmatic 06-14-2005 02:27 PM

Holy crap, that movie has the guy from The Karate Kid in it.

Badmoon 06-14-2005 02:40 PM
Holy crap, that movie has the guy from The Karate Kid in it.
Yeah, Ralph Macchio. The movie is supposably very cool (Says the guitar forums guys). Steve Vai (Who stars in it) does most the guitar parts, and Ry cooder does the soundtrack.

download the trailer.

jpj 06-14-2005 02:44 PM

Steve Vai is only in the final scene, I think. He plays like a guitar playing demon or something, and Ry Cooder is playing what Ralph Macchio is supposed to be playing. I only saw the very end.

ATM 06-14-2005 02:44 PM

I've got the guitar battle downloaded :)

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 06-14-2005 02:46 PM

The next time I go to Blockbuster I'll get that.

Would any of you know if Sun Ra's Atlantis is any good?

Badmoon 06-14-2005 02:54 PM

Metaphorically? Otherwise, he at least plays a human on the outside.

Actually I'm pretty sure Steve Vai wrote and played Ralph's final solo (perhaps final), where he battles Steve.

Badmoon 06-14-2005 02:56 PM

Yeah, Eugene's Trick Bag.

He looks like a human, but the final scene is supposed to take place in Hell. If Ralph Macchio's character beats Steve Vai, than the Devil (Scratch) will give Willie Dixon his soul back.

You might be write about Steve playing the final solo, but Ry plays all the slide stuff.

ATM 06-14-2005 03:09 PM

I could send it to you through AIM if you want it.

Badmoon 06-14-2005 03:11 PM

I have the clip dowloaded already.
You might be write about Steve playing the final solo, but Ry plays all the slide stuff.
Yeah, Iknow he plays the slide stuff.

Illmatic 06-14-2005 03:22 PM

So, Tom Petty is really good.
