A properly set up wireless network is pretty much indistinguishable in practice. the only time cabling is noticeably better is when you're counting data between two computers on a local network.
If you think a wireless internet connection is [I]slower[/I] than cabling it in, you're dreaming.

I like how we conveniently forgot to think about interference. Even though my network was protected, the neighbours wasnt and it interefered with it.

I dont trust wireless either, and its pointless for a desktop a few metres away from the phone outlet.

Same here apart from i use a laptop for both.

If i want to sit down i can chill in the study with it on a desk but if i want to chill in bed like now i hit the wireless router and bam im here :)

For transferring files from one computer to another, it can make a hell of a lot of difference. At LAN parties, I would give out my copy of Half-Life + Bunch of Mods to everybody else, and being a gig, it would take sometime even on ethernet. I can't imagine doing it on wireless.
