To answer your question, I love them.

I like their first full length. Demos are good too, the last rehearsal was solid, but their latest album is terrible.

Agreed. Anybody like alcest, its pretty much hit or miss with their new album.

I remember everyone loved Alcest, then all of a sudden everyone hated it. Whatever, I still kinda like it. It's pretty good.

Hellhammer is amazing though, i bet he can think of beats in a matter of seconds and make them amazing.

I dunno about that. He's a great drummer, but I don't think he's any more creative than Frost or any other established BM drummer.

I personaly think he is better than frost and probably does coke to finish everything :)

1349 aren't exactly awful imo but I'm not a huge fan. Frost is a pretty good drummer I guess, I know absolutely nothing about drums so its hard for me to say who's good or not.

Frost just does northern hyperblasts.


I prefer Hellhammer. Way more creative, although his triggered sounding drums annoy me.

The triggered sound isn't his fault though. It's the engineering/production that's the problem there.

Knowing absolutely nothing about black metal doesn't stop you from trying to judge what is good or not.

I heard Old Man's Child once, so it's quite obvious that I know a lot about black metal.

thats kind of what i did tbh. I never considered it black metal but i did kind of like it at first. then one day i listened and I was like "this is a little gay..." But Neige has some other ok projects, Mortifera's not bad.

Frost is not a good drummer.

I heard one song off the new Alcest months before it was released through their myspace, and I didn't really like it back then. Out of the demo and the EP, I rather the demo. So good.

About Peste Noire, the best release is definitely the first full length. Though, unlike a ot of people, I like Folk**** Follie.

alcest would be so much better if neige didn't make everything sound so wimpy and repetitive.

Yo Elim I checked out Shattengang by Paysage d'Hiver after seeing it on your albums of the year list - pretty sweet stuff, especially "Die Zeit Des Torremond". Do you know of anything else like that?
