GurS 12-26-2004 01:03 PM

I'm getting the self-titled album for Christmas, as soon as it gets to my college address from Amazon.com. Oops, I forgot to send it to my home address instead!

Lord Abortion 12-26-2004 03:12 PM

great album simply for strange world...

GurS 12-26-2004 03:41 PM

strange world AND running free

Thunder Fingers 12-26-2004 05:23 PM

..AND phantom of the opera....

Riva 12-26-2004 05:34 PM

 at GurS in the nominations thread. Nice going mate. :thumb:

Unforunately, each band can only have a maximum of four making it to the top 100. I'm guessing Maiden'll get Powerslave, Brave New World, Number Of The Beast and maybe Seventh Son.

ForiegnPenguin 12-26-2004 07:49 PM

I think Piece of Mind deserves a place more than Brave New World.

Riva 12-27-2004 12:31 AM

Well, go vote for em, mate. :)

GurS 12-27-2004 09:02 AM
 at GurS in the nominations thread. Nice going mate. :thumb:
GurS 12-27-2004 09:02 AM

Oh, Sanctuary is amazing to. And Prowler.

ForiegnPenguin 12-27-2004 09:56 AM

And Remember Tommorow.

Lord Abortion 12-27-2004 12:03 PM

had to return my early days dvd to amazon
fuc'k!!!
no second disk supplied...
bastards!!!
i'll just go and buy it from a shop- easier and console myself that my £11.06 will be refunded...

ashman 12-27-2004 02:11 PM

I think the ol' Maiden army should attack Amazon, not given the 2nd disk of the Early Days is the most heinous crime of all...

Thunder Fingers 12-27-2004 02:13 PM

:grrrrr:

I just got a screwed up Dream Theater DVD from Amazon - it skipped like a beotch and froze up in a couple places.

I was thinking about getting the Maiden Early days DVD - I found it here for considerably cheaper than Amazon:

So anyway, here are the Maiden tapestries I got for Xmas:

Is Aces High Maiden's fastest song? or is there faster song that I don't know about...

Thunder Fingers 12-28-2004 11:16 AM

Parts of rime are faster i think... Phantom of the opera is faster... i think...

Josh 12-28-2004 11:20 AM

hmm theres a lot of fast maiden. hard to choose. invaders is quite fast.

Lateralias 12-28-2004 11:22 AM
Parts of rime are faster i think... Phantom of the opera is faster... i think...
Oh ok, thanks, I just tended to notice that whenever I try to play with Aces High (I'm a drummer) I am swept off my feet because I never noticed and remembered how fast it was.. hehe.

I'm gonna pick up Early Days and Visions of The Beast DVD's soon.

Thunder Fingers 12-28-2004 11:26 AM
hmm theres a lot of fast maiden. hard to choose. invaders is quite fast.
well.. Aces is faster than Invaders...

Lateralias 12-28-2004 11:28 AM
well.. Aces is faster than Invaders...
I know the parts in Hallowed Be Thy Name before, during, and after the solo are kinda fast, but I'm sure Aces is still faster...

ashman 12-28-2004 12:01 PM

My GF got me a Real Live Dead one for christmas :D , so now I only need Live at Donington and that other live one and then I shall be the master of the Maiden CDs. (I have all the Studio albums tho :P )

ForiegnPenguin 12-28-2004 12:15 PM

Parts of Somewhere in Time seem fast (drumwise)

ashman 12-28-2004 12:35 PM
Parts of Somewhere in Time seem fast (drumwise)
I think that song might be the fastest actually.

Thunder Fingers 12-28-2004 12:48 PM
I think that song might be the fastest actually.
some pretty fast 'kin galloping there...

Dive_In_Me 12-28-2004 01:02 PM

Iron Maiden Rocks

I went to their show last time they came to montreal for the give me ed till im dead dead and they havent lost their touch. I also bought the new dance of death album, which is still great. They can still insert those powerful melodic rifs in their songs as well as that special coordination wich makes them so good. Also, they didnt change their style of music to match the gay nu metal **** and pop-punk that really sells right now.

IRON MAIDEN IS THE BEST BAND THAT EVER EXISTED AND THAT WILL EVER EXIST!

GurS 12-28-2004 01:16 PM

i say drumwise the intro to gangland's probably the fastest.

or the triplets in out of the silent planet (who DIDN'T expect me to say that?)

ashman 12-28-2004 02:52 PM
...of the silent planet (who DIDN'T expect me to say that?)
Possibly some of the n00bites
some pretty fast 'kin galloping there...
Can you play that Galloping? I can't, I can manage about a minute, and then my fingers die...

btoto 12-28-2004 03:04 PM

Probably the fastest is Man On The Edge or Aces High............for drum parts

btoto 12-28-2004 03:05 PM

I just downloaded the Rainmaker video......IMO it's the best Maiden video I've ever seen

GurS 12-28-2004 03:07 PM

i still say gangland

btoto 12-28-2004 03:43 PM

Oh, How dare I forgot good old Transylvania ?!

Iron Turtle 12-28-2004 03:58 PM

Hey does someone have a link to an *accurate* transcription for the drum intro (or even the whole song) to "Where Eagles Dare?" All of the tabs I've seen are a very simplified (just triplets between snare and toms) version which don't show the snare flam, roll across snare/tom or simultaneous tom hits which it sounds like Nicko does. Something in standard notation would be best, but an accurate tab would also work. Thanks!
