Trojan Kahn 09-30-2006 06:57 PM

Sure, heard of them before, suggest some good songs?

repcak 09-30-2006 07:03 PM

the whole album: deaf for the blind... or deaf song... i don't remember anymore.
i stopped listening to rock music some 3 years ago... but you can google... its their 3rd record and the cover-art is red.
i still like this album...

Apocalyptic Raids 09-30-2006 07:43 PM

The album is Songs For The Deaf. Go With The Flow is a really good song.

Have you tried Audioslave? Soundgarden? They are good bands.

dUSK 09-30-2006 10:19 PM

Give these songs a try:

Soundgarden - Rusty Cage
Alice In Chains - Them Bones, Rooster
Stone Temple Pilots - Plush
Some early Silverchair might be suited as well. Get songs like Tomorrow, Findaway, Suicidal Dream, Pop Song For Us Rejects and Ana's Song.

blueyxd 10-02-2006 04:22 AM

I'm after some songs with those fat one chord chugga chugga bits eg Tool - Jambi @ 3:57, Tool - Eulogy ending, Eluveitie - The Song Of Life @ 2:47.
I know it will cut out a lot of stuff, but I don't want hardcore music.

cheeese

StreetlightRock 10-02-2006 04:33 AM

Try Isis, there into the whole creating dense music with lots of chugga.

blueyxd 10-02-2006 04:43 AM

Thanks, theres a couple of Isis albums in daily upload

x00046455 10-02-2006 09:18 AM

alot of southern stuff goes for that real fat guitar sound. if your interested i'd recommend some scissorfight.

Shattered_Future 10-02-2006 10:33 AM

Sieges Even uses a lot of chugga chugga stuff.

For he who wanted rock: Check out some Atomic Bitchwax.

Stoic 10-02-2006 03:39 PM

Sieges Even?! On which album?

Shattered_Future 10-02-2006 06:54 PM

The Art Of Navigating By The Stars. On tracks like The Weight, they use that one palm muted chord in odd patterns method perfected by tons of other bands.

Clunge 10-06-2006 08:24 AM

Okies, suggest some metal'ish bands that I will like, taking into account I already like...

Agalloch
Opeth
Dream Theater
Porcupine Tree
Nevermore
NIN
Pain Of Salvation
Tool

Preferably not any prog-metal, I've explored most of that area really. Stuff with riffs = good but preferably not crazily metally.

You get the picture.

the2stranger 10-06-2006 08:30 AM

Disilussion
Drudkh
Ministry
{Miocene}
My Dying Bride
Riverside
Head Control System
Ulver(new stuff)

Riverside and Disilussion are prog metal, but I sure recommend you check them out, if you haven't already ( not really mainstrwam stuff)

Clunge 10-06-2006 08:31 AM

Ooohh, righto. I had one Riverside album for a bit that I never really got into, but I'll give them another go.

the2stranger 10-06-2006 08:34 AM

I love the dreamy guitarlines of Riverside.
WHich album do you have?
I have Second Life Syndrome.

Clunge 10-06-2006 08:45 AM

It was... Out Of Myself.

the2stranger 10-06-2006 08:49 AM

I have yet to order that. :)

jpshortstuff 10-07-2006 05:37 AM

im looking for some Technical Death Metal, along the lines of either Necrphagist or Psycroptic. i've checked out Gory Blister, but they seem to tranquill. Is there anything similar to the 2 above bands?

the2stranger 10-07-2006 05:40 AM

Goregasm
Spawn Of Possesion
Obscura (the band, not the Gorguts album:p)

jpshortstuff 10-07-2006 05:43 AM

Goregasm sound cool hehe

cheers i'll check these 3 out.
/goes to Daily Upload thread...

EDIT:
Simply put, Spawn of Possesion is like having your genitalia slowly mutilated by a rusty chainsaw
 i cant wait

the2stranger 10-07-2006 05:46 AM

That Sputnnik comment is awesome.

Stoic 10-07-2006 06:14 AM

It's Gorgasm (<3) and Spawn of Possession. I would also recommend Visceral Bleeding and Origin.

Gorgasm's Masticate to Dominate has to be one of my favourite death metal albums ever.

the2stranger 10-07-2006 06:18 AM

I thought you stoppted listening to extreme metal.

Stoic 10-07-2006 06:20 AM

This doesn't mean I don't know my stuff! >:-[

the2stranger 10-07-2006 06:26 AM

<3

How have you been Stoic?

Apocalyptic Raids 10-07-2006 06:36 AM
I thought you stoppted listening to extreme metal.
:O

For good?

the2stranger 10-07-2006 06:37 AM

Stoic has been listening to a lot of prog rock, but I don't think he'll ever fully abandon extreme metal. \m/
it's in his genes.

Apocalyptic Raids 10-07-2006 06:50 AM

Come to think of it, I've been listening to more non-metal than Metal lately.

the2stranger 10-07-2006 06:59 AM

I see a lot of hip-hop/ rap in your np's mostly.

I've been so big on anything slow (drone/sludge/doom).

MtD is a f'ing great album.

run don't walk 10-07-2006 04:04 PM

I bought Iron Maiden's The Number of the Beast and I really think it's just an average album. Is there any other Iron Maiden albums you think I should check out or should I just give up on Iron Maiden? Thanks in advance.

Shattered_Future 10-07-2006 04:10 PM

First off, it's not average. :smash:

Second:

Check out Powerslave. Most Maiden fans will call that their crowning moment.

Okay.:)

Riva 10-07-2006 07:37 PM

I'd suggest Seventh Son of A Seventh Son, since it has far more going on than Number Of The Beast, which might make it more interesting to you.

Other than that, you should also look into Brave New World.

Seventh Son of A Seventh Son, Piece of Mind and Powerslave are all better than The Number of The Beast.

Stoic 10-08-2006 06:18 AM

I never liked Piece of Mind :-\

Apocalyptic Raids 10-08-2006 06:47 AM

It's better than NOTB, though.

try posting in the maiden thread, probably will get alot of responses.

I say go powerslave or dance of death.

x00046455 10-09-2006 04:05 AM

Try Brave New World, Dance Of Death or Fear of the Dark. A Matter Of Life And Death is brilliant to.

Apocalyptic Raids 10-09-2006 04:06 AM

Ugh, Fear of The Dark is one of their worst. The title tracks is decent live, but the rest kinda sucks :-\
