sup Power Metal thread.

I've been listening to a lot of Strato lately, Elements pt. I more specifically. Some of the songs in there are awesome.

Too bad their latest album sucked donky balls. An Strato fans?
So, I listened to a song off the new edguy EP on the radio and thought it was too poppy even for the power standards. However, Tobias sounds at his best.
Can you recommend some Edguy album to start off with? I've heard a lot from this band...

I honestly think it's some of their best work yet. Maybe I'm just a fag, I don't know.

Lord Tim 11-10-2005 07:36 PM

Yep, I could honestly cry with joy.

Dragonforce and Edguy...on the same night!
I'm excited already, plus I'm for the bar afterword too as I'll be 18 by then.

Steerpike 11-11-2005 04:47 AM

Lucky bastard.

Anyway, I just started listening to Nevermore. Hello spotlight.

Riva 11-11-2005 04:54 AM

I'm one of Galloglass' top fans on Audioscrob! :D

Nevermore are brilliant indeed, Alex.

Steerpike 11-11-2005 05:04 AM

I've also decided that since R&M needs a little spice injected into it, I'm going to try and broaden the scope of my series a little bit. At least every other poll there is going to be a wild card band, a group whom you'd expect to find in a different forum, but have been spotlighted for the sake of diversity.

Riva 11-11-2005 05:18 AM

All I know is that Kool and the Gang, or Mike Oldfield, had better be some of your wildcards.

Slapping Penguin 11-11-2005 05:27 AM

Lol Jason. Who just loves the chorus for Sonata Arctica's Wellballergy.

If I had the money to buy their albums, they would be. But at the moment, I'm a little short.

Lord Abortion 11-11-2005 07:34 AM

How about Morris Day and the Time?
or Elvis Costello?
what about Ian Dury and the Blockheads?

see...I don't just listen to true metal!

shadow_stalker 11-11-2005 08:16 AM

Ollie you ever listend to Richard Cheese?

Steerpike 11-11-2005 08:42 AM

Well, I've already revealed that tonights poll will include Michale Graves and Blackmore's Night. You'll just have to wait and see who the other two are.

Mr.Cheese is great, every now and again me and a few friends find it amusing to say we're going to listen to some Dick Cheese.

shadow_stalker 11-11-2005 03:30 PM

Hehe i would love him to play something like Dragonforce

ooh he should do nightwish :D

Brew 11-11-2005 03:31 PM

A jazzed up version of Fury of the Storm would be great to hear.

Slapping Penguin 11-11-2005 11:28 PM

I could send you Mike Oldfield.

IheartSP 11-11-2005 11:37 PM

I just listened to Symphony of Enchanted Lands, it was a great album, some amazing symphonic classical stuff.

I don't understand why they are the cheesiest band ever, on a scale of 1-10 of cheesiness they are like a 6, while Dragonforce is easily a 9.

Terrorzone 11-12-2005 10:40 AM

Anyone else have the new Helloween album. I love it.

Steerpike 11-12-2005 10:44 AM

Not yet. There's still a few I need to get my hands on first for upcoming spotlights.

Apocalyptic Raids 11-12-2005 07:19 PM
