Speaking of that, I probably going to see Santana now. :D

I'm more Partial to Parliament myself. That's all I've heard though :p

ATM 06-13-2005 04:16 PM

You need to hear some Funkadelic. Eddie Hazel is like a funkier version of Hendrix.

I saw him 3 monts ago, and honestly it kinda sucked, he played too much of the new stuff. But still worth it to see him play "black magic woman", "jingo",ect...

Broken Arrow 06-13-2005 04:33 PM

Now you've got me worried, oh well.

I've still got John to listen to.

thickasabrick 06-13-2005 04:33 PM

The Grateful Dead Movie is on tonight. I'm excited. I haven't seen it before...is it awesome?

robo2448 06-13-2005 04:40 PM

On TV? What channel?

Badmoon 06-13-2005 04:43 PM

Have you seen the movie?

White_heat 06-13-2005 05:25 PM

no, but ive heard its good

robo2448 06-13-2005 06:02 PM

Anyone like Yes?
All I have is The Yes Album, but it's really good, they are incredibly talented, especially Squire.

White_heat 06-13-2005 06:05 PM

I love Yes, but i really can't listen to more than one album without getting a bit bored.

robo2448 06-13-2005 06:09 PM

I can see how it could get boring, as most of the songs sound similar and all are very long and drawn out. I only have one album though, and I enjoyed it more the 2nd time I listened to it than the first.

White_heat 06-13-2005 06:17 PM

I own Close To the Edge, it is an album made up of two ten minute songs and one 20 minute song, its not bad, but just a bit.... over-wanked, for lack of a better word, but the more i listen to prog-rock stuff the easier it is to listen to without getting bored.

robo2448 06-13-2005 06:26 PM

3 songs total :amaze:
At least Yes Album has 6 different songs.

White_heat 06-13-2005 06:33 PM

Speaking of prog rock any one here like camel?

robo2448 06-13-2005 07:03 PM

Never heard of them. Where the hell is everyone else anyway?

Revenga 06-13-2005 07:19 PM

The Beatles
Free
some Bad Company
Creedance Clearwater Revival
Pink Floyd
The Eagles
Cream
Eric Clapton
Paul Kossoff (Solo stuff after Free)
And alot more...

robo2448 06-13-2005 07:21 PM

I'm assuming those are your favorite bands, good choices :thumb:. Welcome to the forums, stick around. Usually we have a lot of discussion in here, but it's pretty dead right now.

Close To The Edge is one of the greatest prog albums ever recorded, IMO.

Illmatic 06-13-2005 08:27 PM

My friend sucks balls...he's going to see Santana and Tom Petty, and he won't take me.

Also, "Sweet Jane" is like, the best song ever.
