I'm contemplating whether to get a 20 gig iPod or save for a new amp.
I'm fairly sure that for the price of a 20 gig iPod you could get a 40 gig Creative Zen.

Jacaranda 10-02-2005 07:27 PM

Any one know where I could like download Microsoft Word for free? For whatever reason the one on my computer stopped working and of course I have homework due tomorrow that I need to type up, the one I have now isn't letting me do anything.

Don't get an Ipod they are a rip off.

Walrus Gumboot 10-02-2005 07:27 PM

He speaks the truth:

I have this one

This one costs as much as the 20G ipod

Notice the 24hr battery life

I haven't even read his book.
That's Graham Nash's band before CSN(Y) right?
Yeah. They sound sorta like the beatles but (I'll probably get flamed for this) I think they have a much better vocal blend. It's just so relaxing to listen to. My favorites are Bus Stop, The Air That I Breathe, and Carrie-Anne. You should check them out if you haven't heard much of them. If you like the beatles, then you'll probably like these guys.

Probably www.downloads.com

When you bought your computer you definitely would have gotten a disc that you install Microsoft Word with, so you should probably try to find that if you can.

I have an ipod and it's great. It gets fucked up occasionally, but the people at the apple store are cool and repair it for free.

We get so many more posts in this thread when we post useless spam.

I have a 40GB Creative Zen Touch and its awsome. Its easy to scroll through a ton of songs/artists, but when your close, its hard to pinpoint. Takes alot of practice.

I was at Best buy the day it was released, but cost over $300, so went on Bizrate.com and save about $100 on it. It taken alot of intense falls, and stills works perfectly. Its has a few downers...but Overall with price included, it pwns the Ipod. The Battery life is amazing too. It lasted me a week vacation to the beach, including my cousins listening to it.

Has Journey been mentioned? They were a kick-*** band.

What's their best cd? Or should I buy a greatest hits?

The new ipod is amazing though. My friend's dad is like ceo for Toys 'R Us so my friend gets like everything when it first comes out and he got one of the new ipods. They're so small but can hold so much music. It's awesome.

Jacaranda 10-02-2005 07:32 PM

Ha, I didn't want to go to the Pit and ask cause they are ruthless and also not funny. But the one that came with the computer keeps asking me if I want to buy the full version and its really annoying.

God how many bands did the members of CSN have before they made that super group?

Ahem...Ant. I hate those comedians.

Dane Cook is hilarious, especially his bit about the Kool-Aid guy bursting through his wall.

They've been mentioned, and they don't need to be mentioned again.

I know that Graham Nash was in The Hollies, Neil was in Buffalo Springfield with Stephen Stills, and David Crosby was in The Byrds.

Dane Cook has his moments, but for the most part he's like Bill Cosby, only he's louder, he swears more, and he does more dumb things if the audience doesn't laugh.

Lunch 10-02-2005 07:39 PM

Basically Stephen Stills played guitar on every record. Ever.

The greatest hits would be a good start. Thats what I got first.

How is everyone tonight?

magicbus 10-02-2005 08:21 PM

Still bummed over the U of M/State game, and bummed that I have a math exam tomorrow, but happy that I'm about to eat ice cream. If we don't have any, I'll be bummed again though.

Broken Arrow 10-02-2005 08:22 PM

Anyone ever seen High Fidelity?

In one of the scenes, the three guys from the record store (played by John Cusack, Jack Black, and Some Guy) are seeing some local singer perform at a club. The singer, played by Lisa Bonet (who is a legitimate fox), does a version of "Baby, I Love Your Way" and the three of them are mesmerized, which leads to this exchange:
John Cusack: "You know, I used to hate this song"
Jack Black + Some Guy (mesmerized by Bonet): "Yeah."
Cusack: "But now I kinda like it"
JB + SG (still mesmerized): "Yeah."

PinkFreud 10-02-2005 11:28 PM

ive never seen it, but its one of those movies that people tell me i NEED to see.

i just noticed how cool the song oh! darling is. pauls voice is magnificent. its great on golden slumbers too.

discussion on awesome classic rock vocal performances?

Illmatic 10-02-2005 11:34 PM

He's not classic rock, but Sam Cooke is the best singer. Ever.

Golden Slumbers, one of my favourite Beatles tracks. Paul's voice is exceptional on that song, it is so powerful in evoking emotion.

jpj 10-03-2005 04:57 AM

Paul is awesome on Helter Skelter too, really if you think about it his voice is awesome on all Beatles songs.

I love that movie, especially the first few lines when he wonders which came first, the music or the misery. I really should read the book
I love that movie, especially the first few lines when he wonders which came first, the music or the misery. I really should read the book
shouldnt you be in school?

ive always thought that books were better than movie adaptations, bar very few. i disliked the lord of the rings movies, but then again, i disliked the books too. fight club was ok, but then they made the ending very hollywood. it messed up the philosophy a bit.

actually, i think the best book to movie adaptation is either the shawshank redemption (one of my favorite movies of all time) or sin city. both are remarkably faithful to the books.

I'm listening to Bringin' It All Back Home right now! I'm on Outlaw Blues right now. I think the studio version of Maggies Farm sounds way too tame after hearing Dylan play it live with the Butterfield Blues Band at the Newport Folk Festival (it was at the Newport Folk Festival right?)

Books are always a hundred times better than the movies....although I never knew Shawshank Redemption was a book. That must be a freakin amazing book. I love that movie.
