WITTR have slipped steadily since their debut. Two Hunters was pretty good but their new album is really uninspired and kinda dragging. I've never liked anything Skagos has released, the only thing that is sort of good is their side of the spit with Wake.

I like what they're [I]trying[/I] to do, but I think their songwriting skills can't back up their ambition. They like to use a lot of horribly simplistic and shallow riffs to attempt to build atmosphere by repeating them for like six minutes. I think they would be a whole lot better if they took the time to come up with some more interesting riffs. Plus I hate their clean vocals.

I enjoy 2 of their songs, otherwise they do sort of drag on. They would do better to just drop the "epic" feel (others do it much better) and write more, shorter songs.

You see, I don't agree with this. I think they really accomplish what they are trying to do, and their riffs are just beautiful and mesmerizing. The clean vocals might be the only weak part of the band, but I still like them quite a bit.

Oh and you mentioned Wake, they need to release more music, they have so much potential.

Agreed, their side of the split with Skagos was particularly impressive. They used to be known as Boreal and released a demo called The Battle Of Vosad, but I haven't heard it so I'm not sure how good it was.

I've never heard of them. If that demo is as good as their side of the split I have to get that right now.

Just downloaded it out of curiosity, we'll see if it's any good.
