I definantly don't think that Lars is the greatest drummer around, but I do think that what he does is perfect for Metallica.
joey jordison played with metallica to
Yea, I just posted that like 5 posts above.
I definantly don't think that Lars is the greatest drummer around, but I do think that what he does is perfect for Metallica.
Yes he is. Although once in a while, it is nice to see another drummer play a metallica song or two and just add his own style and stuff.

The_Riddler 01-11-2006 10:42 PM
also Dream Theater is boring and repeative to me...John Petriucci has 0 emotion and he is to predictable. I also hate keyboards and James LaBrie
I somewhat disagree, I loved his solo's/guitar playing in general. It might not be emotionally charged as some of Metallica's solo's but far from boring to listen to, I love the sound and just everything he puts into most of his solo's, including in Octarium (solo).

Diabulus in musica 01-11-2006 10:43 PM

lars is good but not the best...children of bodom's drummer is awesome too

iluvkirkhammett 01-11-2006 10:44 PM

I just love the stage presense that Lars has, the faces he pulls are classic, and at times he just looks like such a little cutey, especially in the old days like the 80s and early 90s where he'd go hard out and then he'd just collapse at the end of the show (eg Live **** Binge and Purge). And check him out as kid! <<<

PepsiMetal 01-11-2006 10:45 PM

I also don't like DT's music much. Never figured out what all the fuss was about. I heard few of their songs which were all like 9 minutes plus and the songs never got anywhere really. I liked their instrumentals of MoP covers they did. Not better than metallica's obviously, but it was a nice change.

iluvkirkhammett 01-11-2006 10:47 PM

Does anyone here listen to Apocalyptica?

Diabulus in musica 01-11-2006 10:48 PM

yea lars has a huge stage presence, its just fun to watch him live, besides he improves almost all of the songs live with his double bass playing which is awesome

Diabulus in musica 01-11-2006 10:48 PM

ooo apocalyptica rules...specially the metallica covers

PepsiMetal 01-11-2006 10:49 PM

I've heard only their metallica covers which were quite good. I haven't heard any of their original work. I have a vid of them playing S&D at download festival 05, and they had some drummer from another band. It was pretty cool and crowd sang most of the song.

Diabulus in musica 01-11-2006 10:50 PM

i like path from their original songs, and the video is just awesome
Does anyone here listen to Apocalyptica?
The covers are great, their own music is original, but not so good.

The_Riddler 01-11-2006 10:52 PM

Well, depends on what cd you listened to. Ocatavarium was probably the best cd released last year. Listen to Panic Attack or Octavarium (whole song) both are amazing songs and what got me into them in the first place.
Does anyone here listen to Apocalyptica?
I listen to them on and off. I have 2 of their cd's, none in which they cover Metallica, I used to but it got scratched to hell. Great music when in the mood.

iluvkirkhammett 01-11-2006 10:55 PM

I'm seriously thinking of buying one of their albums, to add to my sleep soundtrack. I can't sleep in total silence so usually I listen to some tracks from Load and ReLoad, S&M, Echobrain's album, some tracks from the acoustic recording for Tuesdays Gone etc and I want to add some more stuff to it.

blue3 01-12-2006 12:13 AM

That's weird. I can't sleep with loud music.. I can with some Alice in Chains or Pink Floyd, but not Metallica.

MetallifuX 01-12-2006 12:52 AM

carpe diem baby is a good sleep song from 'tallica along with low mans lyric, astronomy and i really get into outlaw torn..... the really relax me when i feel like it..

I have to listen to something like DT to help me sleep.

iluvkirkhammett 01-12-2006 03:12 AM

I don't listen to heavy Metallica when I sleep I listen to like Low Man's Lyric, Bleeding Me, Hero of the Day, Nothing Else Matters (S&M version), acoustic version of Creeping Death, Echobrain Anjali...

Jev 01-12-2006 04:21 AM

How comes? I can't get to sleep without heavy.

Apocalyptic Raids 01-12-2006 04:35 AM

I don't listen to anything in particular to sleep.

Ghost Of Perdition 01-12-2006 05:05 AM

I HAVE to have music on to be able to sleep, its weird.
In my stereo from last night is...

Metallica - Load

Dry Kill Logic - Darker Side Of Nonsence

Opeth - Ghost Reveries

I've gotten too used to waking up in the middle of the night and hearing Metallica. Its a routine i've got into.

Dimebag Dom 01-12-2006 05:11 AM

I really cant sleep with music, i get into it too much...

Electric_Eye 01-12-2006 05:45 AM

I need music to sleep. I think way too much otherwise. My favourite song to make me sleep has to be Stratovarius - Dream With Me, Sonata Arctica's Tallulah and Broken are always great and Iron Maiden's Remember Tomorrow, Transylvania, 2am, Como Estais Amigos are all great. A lot of power metal ballads are great for going to sleep but with metallica I'd go for any of their ballads or One or Welcome Home or Fade to Black. Children of Bodom is great music to put me to sleep.

.:Thrasher:. 01-12-2006 07:15 AM

if i play music when im trying to sleep i know il pick up my guitar and jam to it so its useless for me

iluvkirkhammett 01-12-2006 07:18 AM

Low Man's Lyric, it knocks you out straight away, it's such a soothing sort of song, well it is to me.

The only time I can sleep without music is when I'm stoned, which isn't very often. Like once a month.

.:Thrasher:. 01-12-2006 07:49 AM

who looks stronger

Hetfield or lol Urlich

Hetfield looks the type were he frowns at you and you shi.ting your pants but now that hes got the lack of beer and vodka he looks less meaner

Urlich looks the type were he will try and fight you but you just slap him with his own hand saying "stop hitting yourself, stop hitting yourself"

iluvkirkhammett 01-12-2006 07:56 AM

I dunno, Lars looks petty angry sometimes. When he's playing, he looks mean.

And Hetfield would still kill in a fight. I also heard a rumour that he's drinking again...

Squirrel 01-12-2006 07:58 AM

Good to see this thread is still serious and worth having.

iluvkirkhammett 01-12-2006 08:18 AM

Aparently he enjoys a beer every now and again, yeah right!
