When we're feeling incredibly nasty, we're going to fill the water balloons with maple syrup (similar to what I did at uni last year... without the slingshot) :)
Haha, I'd be so pissed if I got hit with one of those. Cola works good too. It's leaves you really sticky, even if you wash it off. Maple syrup though, :p

Just a quick question for those of you with vehicles- In highschool (or in college, if it applies) did people ever write gross/funny things with their finger on your car's dust? Every day, I walk out to my truck, and there's always something like "I LIKE BOYS" or a picture of a wang on my hood. It's somewhat annoying, considering that it happens to me all the time(lol dirty vehicle) but when I do it back to that person, they get all bitchy about it.

People can't take shit...they can dole it out, but can't take it back in.

I throw water balloons the old fashioned way...with my arm. :p

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-23-2005 06:57 PM

Yeah, it's not the actual writing that pisses me off. It's exactly what you said- They can dish, but they can't take. What bitches.

You can't throw 120 mph, therefore you lose. :)

Jom 09-23-2005 07:00 PM

You're going to deal with people like that all your life, though, not just in high school and uni.

People are going to say they're going to do something, but never follow through.

People will talk as much shit as they can, yet they'll never back it up.

You just gotta let those things go, heh. If you can't, call people out on it.

Shattered_Future 09-23-2005 07:04 PM

A good smacking up usually does the trick. :thumb:

Maybe I can't throw at 120 mph, but I CAN get 3 inches from somebody's face with a water balloon...can't do that with the slingshot.

Firefox users:

I just updated Firefox, and it asked me to make a profile. I lost all my bookmarks >:[

Is there any way I can go back to my old Firefox, say, under the "default" profile and retrieve my old bookmarks?

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-23-2005 08:17 PM

When I got Firefox a few months ago, it let me import my bookmarks from Internet Explorer. Not sure if this helps you, but you may want to try that.

Are there any new wicked features on the updated version?

Don't think so.

I've had it in the past where it asked me if I wanted to switch to another version or something similiar, and lost them all too. I'm gonna stick to this version, methinks.

Maybe there is a file in the old Firefox folder which holds the bookmarks? (If the folder is still there)

Not to my knowledge, but I'm sure security and all that is ace. The taskbar seems "cleaner" as well... meaning, it looks sharper on my laptop than it did before. I dunno, though. So far so good, sans bookmarks :(

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-23-2005 08:35 PM

If it's that important, you could just do a system restore to yesterday. I mean, you wouldn't lose anything but the new Firefox, and maybe a couple songs. (bastard pirate)

Kurtz 09-23-2005 08:43 PM

Do what Jake said. Might [not] work.

How many bookmarks did you have?

Jom 09-23-2005 08:46 PM

I didn't have very many, and they probably could be easily Googled, but it was still quite the inconvenience. I'm not going to do a System Restore, because every time I try, it never works. I always get a "Windows does not detect a reason to do a System Restore, suck a dick." So pfft to System Restore, heh.

And I'm a King, not a pirate :p

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-23-2005 08:55 PM

King in your own mind. Pirate in mine. :)

So uh, I have a confession to make- I've been spending more time on myspace than on mx. /slits wrists

Whenever I do a SysRes, it works fine. It typically solves the problem that I was having.

Kurtz 09-23-2005 08:58 PM

Jom: Good luck.

Jack: I used to also, but it's a little pointless.

Now I'm going to run to a friend's house with some buds, for some poker and Fargo.

Shadows 09-23-2005 09:19 PM

Fargo? Is that code for the name of an off-brand of soda/pop?

No, that's Faygo. I think he means the movie Fargo.

magicbus 09-23-2005 09:23 PM

I think he meant the movie. It's supposed to be good, but I've never seen it.

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-23-2005 09:24 PM

I know Fargo as a movie. I very crazy movie at that. Whenever I think of that movie, I picture some poor bastard getting pushed head-first into a chipper shredder. :wimper:

Right, that's what I was thinking. I've never seen the movie, but the title reminds me of something I once saw on MST3K.

Jom 09-23-2005 09:37 PM

So, that slingshot I was telling you about?

Well, we just spent the past half-hour or so shooting apartments and people.

Bwahahahahhaha. No one could tell it was us because everything was pitch black where my townhouse is. People would look out their doorwalls and open the curtains to see, and that's when we'd hit them again. Fun times at uni on a Friday night.

Next, we cooled off for a bit. This girl kept going from apartment to apartment outside seeing if they were getting hit. When she went back inside, we shot her door again with a water balloon.

I think people know it's us, but they're not doing anything about it. I mean, geez, when getting hit with water balloons is the most exciting thing to happen to my area of residence this year, you can't let the fun spoil.

I had a very similar experience.

Me and a couple other guys went to my backyard with a water balloon slingshot thing and were hitting nearby houses. It was great. We had a prefect view of this one house, and NAILED it. It made the loudest sound. Once we hit the house, all the lights went on and some people came out...so we stopped for a while. Once we came back out, we got creative. We started filling the balloons with barbeque sauce, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, Coke, etc. We hit the same gouse with a balloon full of choclate sauce. Oh, the memories.

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-23-2005 09:46 PM

You could seriously do some serious damage to someone if you pegged in the right spot. I'm not just talking pegging someone in the package, you would go down instantly if you got hit in the head.

I need one of those! :p
Yeah, what we call going to college, they call going to uni(versity).
Technically, the Americans are wrong on this one, since Universities have colleges, since a college is a building in which you reside whilst at University, or a specific department.

It's a really black comedy, that one.

A couple of words to summarize my night:

Corpse Bride, storms, private property, man-made lake, Christopher Walken, Russian Roulette

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-23-2005 10:50 PM

Russian Roulette? Care to explain, sir?

Kage 09-23-2005 10:52 PM

Elaborate.

Kurtz 09-23-2005 10:55 PM

Fargo was great. Buscemi was great, and Frances McDormand deserved the Oscar she won. Oh, and fuck that Minnesota/Midwest accent. If I hear "Ya" one more time, I'm going to hurt a small child.

The wood chipper scene was sweet.

My Hold 'Em sKiLLz were top-notch too.

I saw like 5 minutes of a movie where Christopher Walken blows his brains out playing Russian Roulette.
