BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 10-02-2005 07:25 AM

Did anyone know Malcolm Young's first band was in the Velvet Underground? :amaze:

Lupus 10-02-2005 07:58 AM

Yeah, but not the true Velvet Underground.

Broken Arrow 10-02-2005 08:18 AM

So I open my inbox and I find 13 Bob Dylan albums. I think that it is safe to say that it was the best email ever.

Firecracker 10-02-2005 09:56 AM

It took me ages to find out Paul was actually Papa Shank.

JonG 10-02-2005 09:56 AM

Who is guitrguy?

He has more posts then me, but I never see him :|

Lunch 10-02-2005 09:59 AM

He was a regular back in the day, but then he stopped coming here. He's actually Gilmour/KingofDude's brother.

Against Miik! 10-02-2005 11:34 AM

I don't even know if anybody wants it, but I happended to have Boston s/t and half of the Allman Brothers LIve at Fillmore East on my computer. If anyone wants it tell me how to put it on yousendit.

MBS 10-02-2005 11:39 AM

Put the mp3's in a folder and use Winrar or winzip or whatever and make it a zipped file. Then you go to www.yousendit.com and browse to it and hit send. Copy the link and paste it in an email and send it to everyone. Ta-daa! :)

I'll take Boston's s/t. My email is inevergiveyoumymoney@gmail.com

I can do those. I just bought No Direction Home :D

Distant Echoes 10-02-2005 11:49 AM

Yea the Dylan was great, but Desire needed 'A license to tranfer this file', but whatever. His liv album blew me away.

Did everybody get Layla & Other Assorted Love songs from me? I dont remember if i ever got the new Mailing list or not.

PinkFreud 10-02-2005 11:54 AM

i got it. had it already, but thanks anyway. what a great album.

and yeah, desire is protected. not a big deal, but if you want to bypass it in the future, you need to burn it to a cd and then re-rip it onto your computer.

I've already got the s/t uploaded but Live/Dead has failed 3 times :upset:

Once Live/Dead goes through, I'll send them both out in one e-mail.

Edit- The No Direction Home DVD is awesome. It has 7 never before seen perfomances, including the full performance of Like A Rolling Stone with The Band :D

Edit 2- Yay Live/Dead fails again... :upset:

and again... Why does YSI always suck for me?

JonG 10-02-2005 12:59 PM

I'll do Live/Dead if you want me to.

robo2448 10-02-2005 01:08 PM
I'll do Live/Dead if you want me to.
Ha, it's failed 9 times now. 9. That's got to be a record. It's got to go through one of these days though. Thanks for the offer, but I'll keep trying it. After all this failure, I want to see it go through.

JonG 10-02-2005 01:10 PM

I'm already uploading it :p

You said you had the s/t uploaded? Or you want me to do that?

*won't go through first. Just failed for the 10th time.

Broken Arrow 10-02-2005 01:20 PM

I'm gonna download Live Dead altough I have like 5 Grateful Dead Bootlegs from around that time period. I have s/t though

robo2448 10-02-2005 01:32 PM

I just sent out s/t. Since Live/Dead failed 11 times, I gave up on it and Jon's uploading it.

Thanks for the s/t and for the effort on Live/Dead :D

If you had to choose one song to make you music theory class showcase, which song would it be?

(Has to be around 5 minutes, she shut me down when I suggested Mountain Jam)

music theory class showcase? what kind of song does she want? you could always choose something incredibly technical. those are fun. haha.

"Pick a song you like and write about the band and the song's hook"

I guess it is so we can either 1) Get an idea of each other's musical taste or 2) learn how to analyze music

I was thinking China Cat Sunflower or some Frank Zappa-- You know, stuff the teacher doesn't listen to

Maybe some QMS

PinkFreud 10-02-2005 02:46 PM

ah, interesting.

sounds like a cool class. i'd have a tough time deciding on a song though.

JonG 10-02-2005 02:58 PM

Live/Dead has been sent.

thickasabrick 10-02-2005 04:09 PM

Man, yesterday I went in search of some albums I wanted on vinyl...and I found exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately, I have no money right now. I wanted another Grateful Dead album that I didn't already have on vinyl, and I found Anthem of the Sun for 10 bucks, and I wanted some more Dylan albums (I've only got a couple on vinyl, and some are in bad condition) and I found his first three albums in perfect condition all for less than 15 bucks each.

I get paid tomorrow....unfortunately I have to take my cat to the vet this week to get him fixed and declawed and all the medical crap that comes along with getting a cat. So I'm sure that'll cost some money.

edit- Walrus, I'd pick some Zappa....pick his most far-out stuff. I love listening to Zappa albums I've never heard before, they are so freakin' unpredictable.

angusmaster 10-02-2005 04:09 PM

Im gettin DSL next month or so,and ill be able to upload all these emails. :thumb:
