What a great Thanksgiving. I love turkey, and the other assorted foodstuffs that come with the holiday.

And snow is awesome too.

the2stranger 11-25-2005 05:19 PM

the community thread is moving slow, I gues people do not like Sanwiches so late at night
it's 12:20 here :p

I think I will go to bed, and be amazed by the amount of snow I will see tomorrow when i wake up and look out of my window..

Shadows 11-25-2005 05:22 PM

It is indeed a slow day. I'm just sitting here eating pizza and writing out a long list of 15 songs that mean the most to me. After this, a religion report. What fun.

Toaster 11-25-2005 05:26 PM

I'm going to a hockey game later. Much fun.

Bartender 11-25-2005 05:26 PM

For any particular reason?

It was a thread made in the sputnik section. A guy wanted each of us to write out a list of 15 songs that described you and summarized your musical taste the best. Most just made a quick list, but being me, I had to go the extra mile and write a paragraph describing the song and what it means to me.

Thanks. Some of that I never listen to any more, but it takes me way back to when I was into that style of music, so I had to include. That goes for mainly the last two songs.

GenuineImitation 11-25-2005 06:21 PM

Soundgarden - superunknown
Van Halen -Best of Volume 1
Iron maiden - Death on the road

Megadeth -Peace Sells But who's Buying
Judas Priest - Screaming for Vengence
Judas Priest - Turbo

Slayer - God hates us all
Dredg - catch without arms

blueyxd 11-25-2005 06:25 PM

GenuineImitation 11-25-2005 06:31 PM

They were all new to.

Bartender 11-25-2005 06:35 PM

^Must have either been a great number of gift vouchers, or a rather spectacular store.

Most cd's I ever bought at once was 2. But then again, I didnt have any gift cards or certificates. No money either...

But like , do you listen to it once then go on to the next one you bought ?
Or do you stick to one or 2 for a while before opening the next ones ?

I'll listen to each one several times before going to the next. Then if I like it (which is 98% of the cds I own, it goes onto my iPod.

I would have bought more, but I was out of cash.

Im gunna get an Ipod or mp3 later on to put all my cd's in, for when I go to places I wont have to bring all of them. But right now I have 2 more cd's in all then what you just bought today :p .

Seriously, you dont own more than 20 cds?
Seriously, you dont own more than 20 cds?
Yeah, I know its shameful, but all the cd's I have come from beginning of summer about to about now. I asked a bunch at christmas though. And I intend to buy a few during vacation.

Bartender 11-25-2005 06:49 PM

Buying many CDs at once is something I do quite a lot, too.
Really? Hahaha, that's too bad. Any of those songs in particular you disagree with me on, or just the entire thing in general?
Mostly bands, rather than songs. It always seems the bands you claim as your very favourite ones are ones I generally don't have any time for (Children of Bodom, Shadows Fall, Cradle of Filth and, to a lesser extent, Arsis).

Of course I wouldn't put many, if any, of the songs you have there (that I've heard) on my own most important songs list, but that's not surprising in the least (as in, I wouldn't really expect any two such lists to match up very well). That's not to say I disagree with the whole thing, though.

Honestly, how do you afford this? That's like five hundred dollars.

Jom 11-25-2005 06:55 PM

This is terrible.

I'm going out with a friend to the movies soon, but I have a feeling I'm going to fall asleep. To anyone who's seen the new Harry Potter movie: yay or nay?

That would be almost $17 per CD, which seems an unusually high assumption.

Im not paying for it. :D

My parents, borther, sister, grandparents and my Aunts and Uncles are. I told everyone in my family to get me a few cds. My parents are getting me about 10.

I guess so. Most people around here like some of the same stuff as me but overall nobody seriously loves the bands I do. I think I'm completely alone on Shadows Fall, and all I get is empty fanboy responses about Children of Bodom. Cradle of Filth is never met with anything but flaming. It's very depressing sometimes.

Anyway, now that I've degraded myself in everyone else's eyes with a long pointless list of songs, how was everyone's day?

I do live in Canada you know. Where any good cd costs at least 25$. I estimated the American dollar equivalent, seeing as your dollar is pretty low right now.
